Yue'er spoke while holding a chess piece against her chin, pondering for ages without deciding where to place it. Her eyes darted around, and she turned to him with a smile, asking, "Master, where do you think I should put this piece?"
The Azure Emperor's mouth twitched slightly. He glanced at her and said, "Figure it out yourself."
"But I can't figure it out! You know my chess skills aren't great. If you don't tell me, I'll lose within three moves. So you really have to teach me!" She chattered cheerfully, completely oblivious to her own thick-skinned persistence.
The Azure Emperor seemed somewhat exasperated by her words, reaching out to point at the board.
"Thud!"
Yue'er placed the piece with a sharp thud exactly where her master had indicated. Her eyes lit up instantly. "Master, you're amazing! Placing it here turns my dead-end position into a viable one!"
