Chapter 275 - How I Met Daddy Part 3

PoV Gloria

I remember that moment; my heart dropped. Daddy's face, with a small smile, I now know was malicious. He was looking at me with a grin that told me he already knew what was going to go down. I shivered as I looked at him with the Principal beside him, with a frown. I turned to look at the principal, and I did not like the look he was giving me.

It took me a moment to gather my bearings, and I propped myself on my back foot, crossed my arms, and leaned back at the door, ready to make a getaway. I was halfway in and half out of the principal's office. I had not seen any police, so they probably were not trying to catch me for drug dealing, at least not at this moment. I was on guard, waiting for it.

"Miss Gloria Smith, this is Rick, a wealthy donor looking to set up a trust fund for the school," The Principal suddenly said, and I turned to look at him.

"Okay?" I remember replying, trying to hold back my sarcasm, and the rich man named Rick smiled.

"The reason that he told you that is because your the reason I am deciding to donate to this school," The Rich guy named Rick suddenly said to me and at the time I was still wondering why I was even there.

"And?" I asked.

"Well, you see," Rick said with a small smile, "I would like to talk to you for a bit. See, I have several questions, and I was wondering if you would not mind if we had a small chat in a public place for a bit about those questions."

The small smile on his face sent shivers down my spine as I realized having those questions asked in front of the Principal would be very bad for my legal health. The question is, why was I at that school at that time of day on a school day? There were many things that could lead people down the correct thought paths, which I did not want to ask about very badly.

"Okay," I replied, shivering a little in fear.

"Do you mind if we use your Office?" The rich guy said to the Principal, and he smiled and nodded.

"Of course," The Principal replied, much to my surprise, getting up and walking out of the room, almost skipping in delight as he smiled at me, and I looked at him, stunned, as he walked away, leaving me alone in the room with a rich person.

Rick smiled and shook his head. "I give a little money and they leave me alone in a room with a minor," Rick scoffed. He sat down in the chair the Principal had just vacated and motioned to the chair on the other side. "I have no bad intentions. Please sit down, Gloria," Rick said.

I could not help but sit down, but I felt a fear gnawing at me.

"What are your questions?" I asked, hoping to get out of this room as soon as possible.

"Well, for starters, thank you for reminding me to do my research," Was what Daddy said to me at this moment, much to my surprise at the time. Instead of barking at me, he thanked me for reminding him there were places with greater need. "Although I will still be donating to that school, you reminded me that there are much poorer schools. Those who are desperate for even the basic level of funding. Seriously, whoever tied education funding to Zip codes was stupid on another level of stupid." Rick said.

I remember staring at him stupidly, and my mouth was a bit open in surprise. "Why are you talking about this with me?" I asked, suddenly unsure why I was there.

"Because when you yelled at me, I woke up, and I had been going through this all half-heartedly, and I started to look into things, including who woke me up to the reality around me," Rick replied. "What I found was quite something—Gloria Smith, a young woman whose parents died at four in a Car accident. Life insurance payout was meant to help you be raised in case of something like this, all went to your Aunt, Aunt Francine, who gambled it all away and put you into the system after disowning you. Trash human being that Aunt Francine," Rick added.

I felt my face heat, then pale as he basically went over my origin story, and I hated my Aunt even more. I remember the hot tears streaming down my face, and I hated her with my entire being. I was an Orphan because of that bitch. "Family can be the worst people in your life," Rick said with a sigh.

"What would you fucking know about losing all your family?" I snapped back in anger.

"Because, recently, I had to cut off all my family because, like you, they only wanted me around for my money," Rick replied, his face as hard as stone, and I looked at him, and thus began our conversation.

"That conversation lasted way longer than the Principal would have ever thought," Gloria said, and I chuckled.

"It did," I replied, "It was deep and meaningful, and the reason why I both decided to adopt you and why you accepted it."

Gloria nodded, "So that was how I met Daddy," Gloria said, turning to Victoria, "It was simple. The TLDR was, I was dealing drugs and said something stupid to a rich donor guy visiting the school. He hunted me down and found me quickly using money. We had a heart-to-heart conversation, and suddenly, and I guess almost anticlimactically, we adopted each other as family."

Gloria finished with a small smile, and I smiled at her in return as I finished my delicious Frappuccino. "Yup, things were pretty rough at the start, but now we are each other's family. We both wrote off blood relatives, and that is that," I finished leaning back, and Gloria nodded.

"Have they tried to contact you?" Victoria asked, looking at Gloria, and she shook her head.

"No, Daddy put an information silence on my profile so they all probably think I was lost in the system, then kicked out," Gloria replied, and Victoria nodded.

"Honestly, I was hoping for something more climactic between you two," Victoria said, and Gloria laughed.

"Daddy said the same thing in the past," Gloria replied, and I blushed. "'Our Orgian story is so anticlimactic, why could you not have played a little harder to get?' Daddy said in the past, and you want to know how I replied?"

"How?"

"Who would say no to being the Daughter of a Billionaire and being their only Heir?" I replied before laughing with Gloria and Victoria. We all started to laugh together as the question was extremely valid in reply.

"Fair enough, but I finished my coffee, and soon, I want to hear about those rough days at first, but I also really want to see Richelle in some cosplay and schoolgirl outfits," Victoria announced at the end of the break, with Gloria's eyes lighting up in reply.

I groaned, wondering what was in store for me next.
