"Hey, I'm eighth. I knew I was above average!"
In front, Chen Zhiyu excitedly pointed at his own score.
"I'm at least in the top 50 percent. That's a relief."
Lu Tai heaved a sigh while patting his chest.
"Old Tian, you're in 13th place. You're not rock bottom anymore."
Turning around, Chen Zhiyu pointed out Tian Qingfeng' s position.
"Yup, it's probably the combat assessment pulling everything up though."
After a while, Miss Su walked back into the class. She seemed to have walked out of the classroom while everyone perused the ranking. She clapped her hands to get the entire class's attention.
"Alright, now that you've all had your fun, it's time to get on with the schedule.
"We have a new transfer student joining us."
As she said this, someone walked into the classroom to stand next to Miss Su.
"This is Wu Haoran. He shall be joining our class from today onwards. Please give him a warm welcome."
The classroom burst into clapping and cheers.
"Now Please introduce yourself."
After saying that she took a step back, allowing the transfer student to take the stage.
"Hello, my name is Wu Haoran. Wu as in enlightenment and Haoran as in the confucian Hao Ran Zhi Qi."
After introducing himself, he gave everyone a smile.
The class burst into chatter after they learned his name.
"He's so handsome."
"I know right!"
"He's surnamed Wu? Is he part of The Wu family, like that one?"
"He has got to be. There is only one family with that name within the surrounding cities."
"Wait, he's also in the muscle strengthening stage. Could he be the Divine Successor?"
While the entire class was buzzing with curiosity animatedly, Wu Haoran continued his introduction.
"To answer all of your questions, I am part of the Wu family but I am not the divine successor.
"I have transferred to this school because I had some … issues at the previous school."
"It's nice to meet you all and I hope we can all be friends."
After his introduction, Miss Su stepped forwards again garnering everyone's attention.
"Ok, Wu haoran, welcome to this class. There is a seat next to Tian Qingfeng over there."
With her hand, she gestured at the window seat next to Tian Qingfeng.
Wu Haoran walked over and took a seat.
While Teacher Su was busy getting the board ready, Chen Zhiyu turned around in his seat.
"Are you really not the Divine Successor?"
At this question, Lu Tai also turned around. He was stroking his chin while narrowing his eyes.
"If I recall, the divine successor was outside of Tian Ping city's walls today.
"And based on the uniform insignias, the city wall design, and what the inner city looked like from the live stream, it should've been the western wall.
"Our school is near the western wall. That means that there should be enough time for the divine successor to reach the school right after the battle."
Facing this accusation, Wu Haoran waved his hands in front of him.
"No way, I don't even smell like blood.
"Since there would be no way to both clean oneself up as well as reach the school on time. If I was the divine successor, then I would smell heavily of blood since he went to the wall to fight against the mutant beast wave right?
"But I don't. That said, the Wu family mansion is in the western sector. Maybe that's why he went to the western wall."
"Hmm…" Chen Zhiyu narrowed his eyes.
"Old Chen, why are you so interested in this?" Tian Qingfeng interjected.
Chen Zhiyu turned to address Tian Qingfeng
"There are only so many Wu family members that are in the muscle strengthening realm. This is even if you add all of the Wu family's three branch families.
"And it just so happens that one such member has joined our class. You ought to know that although our school is not one of the top schools within the Asia sector, it isn't a bottom tier school either.
"We are at least an upper middle rank school. Within Tian Ping city, we are ranked 9th which makes it plausible for the Divine Successor to be at our school."
"But as you said, we are only the 9th ranked school in Tian Ping City. Why would the Divine Successor ever choose this school when he could've gone to one of the top three schools?"Tian Qingfeng countered
"Well, I don't know. But since our buddy Wu Haoran is here, I got a little suspicious" Chen Zhiyu said while scratching his head.
"Sorry about that." Looking over, Chen Zhiyu apologised.
"It's fine. I can understand the skepticism and curiosity." Wu Haoran smiled at Chen Zhiyu
"So, do you know which school the Divine Successor is attending?"
"He he…" Wu Haoran gave him a somewhat nervous laugh
"How would I know? As a branch family member, how would I know where the Divine Successor is?"
"Fair point." Chen Zhiyu nodded his head.
"Oh, I forgot to say, it's nice to meet you. Let's get along."
"Likewise," Wu Haoran replied
As they got to know each other, Teacher Su had finished setting up the holographic board.
"Ok, now that you all have gotten all of that out of your system, it's time for the Federation History Overview.
"As you know, before the Genesis Federation was formed, earth used to have a lot of separate nations.
"This was, obviously, before the outer sector walls were built and also before the advent of the Arcane Realm, spiritual energy, and spirit stones.
"Now, when was the Arcane Realm discovered? Who discovered it."
When Teacher Su asked the class, several students raised their hands.
"Li Meihua, when was the Arcane Realm discovered?"
After Li Meihua was called on, she lowered her hand and answered.
"The Arcane Realm was discovered on the 15 of March 2047 by an employee of Normans Energy Research Institute who went by the name of Isabella Taylor."
