"Sleep well. Good night." He patted her head and went out of the room. Diya was initially in a bad mood but she went to sleep with a smile and a clear mind, thanks to him.
Ajay called Karl. "Why are you calling me at this time?! It's half past ten. Don't you know that I sleep at ten every day. You know how much I hate when-"
"Your sister-in-law-" Ajay moved the phone away from his ear when he started to shout.
"SISTER-IN-LAW???? WHAT HAPPENED TO HER??!!!"
"She's fine. But I need you to do something for her," Ajay explained everything to Karl. "Got it. I'll take care of it." Then he hung up.
The next morning, Diya woke up to Kaia's phone call. "Diya! Did you hear about Manav?"
"What about him?" She heard her gasping. "Wait, so it wasn't you?" Diya asked in an annoyed tone, "What the hell are you talking about?"
"He and Ananya fought at the restaurant after our departure. He had blamed her for losing his job. Uh. I heard it was quite fierce. And then someone beat him up in front of his house heavily. It would at least take a whole month for him to recover. So I thought you asked Ajay to take revenge for you." Diya was shocked when Kaia said that Manav had refused to report about the incident.
She, for sure, didn't ask Ajay to do anything. 'But the way he dashed out of the room yesterday night, could it be really him?' She pondered that possibility but she couldn't be sure. She decided to ignore it. He deserved it anyways. Diya observed Ajay when they were having breakfast but even if he had done something, he didn't show it on his face.
Days went by. Everything was peaceful in the AJ Mansion. Every night there were laughing sounds. Something that never had happened before.
Diya had become closer with Karl and Veer. They spent almost every night together playing and singing and laughing while Ajay watched silently from the couch. Her relationship with Ajay had improved from all the meals together and small talks about each other's day; lying side by side on the bed.
Mala had called her one day to say that Balu has changed. Of course, he's not showing love but he stopped arguing with her and most of the time, ignores her unlike before when he deliberately finds something to fight about. They were no chances for them to reconcile, which Diya knew well. But all she wanted was for her mom to live in peace.
Before hanging up, Mala had said, "I think something happened between Ajay and your dad that day. Sometimes Balu says stuff like 'tell your daughter that you're doing fine and make sure that she tells him that." Diya was aware that something had happened between them but she didn't bother to ask Ajay as she knew that he won't tell her.
After that call, Diya had informed Ajay about the changes in her father. He had only replied with, "He could be putting on a facade. I'll keep an eye on him."
In her eyes, it had looked like he wasn't that pleased at her father's change. As per their deal, they should separate once everything settles within her family. Could it be the reason for his dull mood?
She thought it could be true because it was how she felt too. Although she was happy that her problems are getting solved, the thought of divorcing him made her sad.
