Peggy tightened her grip on the weapon and shouted, "Who are you?!"
The man slowly raised his hands, trying to calm her down. "Please, put the weapon down first." he said gently. However, Peggy refused to lower her guard. She kept asking the same question repeatedly, her voice filled with fear and confusion.
Seeing no other choice, the man finally introduced himself. "My name is Tian Jing." he explained softly. "I'm your fiancé. We're supposed to get married soon."
Peggy frowned. "Then… who am I?"
"You are Pei Qi. " he replied. Peggy blinked in surprise. Pei Qi… The name sounded strangely similar to her own.
He looked at her worriedly before asking, "Don't you remember anything?" Peggy rubbed her aching head and slowly shook it.
Tian Jing became even more confused. He couldn't understand how such a small accident could cause her to lose all her memories. Still, he kept his voice gentle.
"It's okay," he reassured her. "I'm here for you. I'll help you recover your memories."Carefully, he reached for the weapon in her hands and slowly took it away. Then, he guided her toward a nearby chair and helped her sit down.
Peggy froze in confusion.
Why am I here? she thought. I should be in the hospital, not in this place…
A frightening thought suddenly crossed her mind.
Did God give me a second chance? …Or did I transmigrate?
