"When these individuals, or their avatars for the Pseudo-Sages, have gathered together in the command centre, the portal will activate. Before you can step through, two individuals will cross over to your side. They will introduce themselves to you when they arrive so I will not go into detail on them. Just understand that the two of them are both Pseudo-Sages responsible for guarding the portal to our Ancient Elf dimension. There is a third guardian who protects the dimension as a whole, except he is a true Sage. Thanks to the power of Andorias, his existence has been separated from the natural link that Sages and Pseudo-Sages have with each other. This is why the fact that another Sage does exist was never discovered." Echadir finished going over the main details of the plans laid out by the High Priestess quickly as if knowing his time was running short. "Listen to the two guardians when they arrive, they will be your guides." The old man sighed with a look of melancholy, "It's unfortunate to know that I'll never get the opportunity to meet you all in person, but I am already bordering on 1500yrs in age. Within a few months of this message, I expect to pass on." A smile of conflicting emotions, though mostly hope for the future and acceptance of his fate, graced his face, "This will be my final recording. I wish all of you only the greatest luck possible and pray for your success. January 14th, 0:1830 Chaos. This is Echadir, signing off. Farewell, young ones, and may the light of hope guide your path."
The recording ended thusly, with the screen flickering before closing entirely. Halad stepped forward atop the desk again to stand where the screen had been and began to talk, [Once again, my name is Halad, and I am the overseer and protector of the Atlas Pillar. Whilst you are within the Pillar, my word is the law. I feel I will need to repeat this at some point, but I will go over this now. The penultimate rule of the Pillar: keep your faction nonsense out. Within this Pillar, you are Andorians, not Light or Dark Faction beings. The ridiculousness of your two chief factional deities and their rivalry is completely inane and only for the sake of appearances. If not for the fact that I cannot leave the Pillar and the growth of their divine power through great faith being the reason why they have held the barrier together for so long, I'd have given them a piece of my mind long ago.] Compared to the emotionless attitude that Halad had displayed prior to Echadir's recording being played, the AI appeared to have developed emotions after thousands of years. Luca was quite impressed with her attitude towards the factional drama, something he found rather stupid as well.
Arthur, understandably, had difficulties coming to grips with the rule but he did not refute it. He did comprehend that the reason he was having such a problem with accepting it was the fact that he'd always grown up with it, especially since the factional dynamic had existed since the first Sages appeared. Instead, he moved on quickly by asking a simple question, "Is there a means of long-distance communication here in the Pillar? Considering its vast capabilities, such a power would not seem out of place."
[You are correct, the control centre does have such a function. The Tactical Communications devices, or Taccoms for short, are simple in-ear communicators that, with the power of Andorias and the ley lines connected to the Pillar, can be used to communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time. Only a handful of places are unable to receive Taccom signals, such as the ascended planes of the deities and the underworld, any place with heavy spatial distortions such as the Ancient Elf dimension or the secret location of Yggdrasil, or either very deep into space outside of Andor Plane or the depths of the plane itself. For safety reasons, they cannot be distributed outside of the control centre and only activate for one person's spiritual wavelength. However, there is a one-way version from the Pillar to an individual or a group. Considering the reason for your query, I gather that you will need the latter. As you do not have any crew here in the Pillar to make my job easier, I will have to do it myself.] With a physical, but inaudible due to the lack of organs, sigh, the AI floated upwards from the desk and started moving a few human steps away as another tile began to switch.
Arthur followed Halad over to the communication setup that rose from the floor as Luca and Arcturus stayed at the main desk. The young dragonling restrained his curiosity, as he could not comprehend the symbols on the desk, let alone how to operate it. Luca, on the other hand, began examining the keyboard closely. To be more accurate, it was closer to a typewriter in that it had no function keys, and the only non-letter or number keys consisted of a shift key, an enter key and a spacebar. As for what was printed on the keys, Luca vaguely recognized them as a form of Latin. From his understanding, the game creators stated that the written script of the Ancient Elves was one of the evolutions of the Latin alphabet over time. It wasn't the Classical Latin version, which was the one prior to the Renaissance when the letters W, U, and J were added. Since the keyboard also lacked the letters Y and Z, Luca inferred that it came prior to the Classical Latin style, as the two were added to the alphabet of the latter. Using his rough understanding of what he gathered was the Old Latin alphabet, he could guestimate most of how the keyboard worked.
