With the warmth she felt on her right cheek, Ming Ling looked upon the boy in front of her. He looked at her with a gentle gaze. This gaze comforted her and she unconsciously drew closer to the hand caressing her cheek.
'A kitten.' He thought as she rubbed her cheek on his hand. He showed a smile towards this cute girl in front of him.
Ming Ling didn't know why, but even though she just met this boy, her heart seem to be calm in his presence. As if he brings comfort to her. This comfort was different from the one she gets from her parents, nonetheless, it provides her warmth.
Then, she remembered his question.
"Did... Did I sing alright?" Ming Ling asked, insecurities present in her voice as she gripped his sleeves.
"Your voice is like no other. Angelic, almost like the voice of the goddess of love." He said with s gentle smile while still holding onto her cheek. "I know we just met. But I really have something to say."
With just his words, Ming Ling was assured that her singing didn't sound bad. No one had ever said such words to her before.
"Yes, what would you like to say, my lord?" Ming Ling said with a huge smile.
"I know that we just met, but your presence is enough to give me warmth, which is weird. And that..."
Ming Ling looked at him expectantly, waiting for his next words.
"I... fell in love with you at first sight. Would... it be alright to ask for your hand in marriage?" He said, not noticing the blush apparent on his cheeks. "Of course, you can still think it through!" He added as soon as he finished asking, thinking that he may be disregarding her opinion and she may think that he wanted an immediate answer.
Shocked, Ming Ling stared at him in a daze.
'He... fell in love with me?
Isn't it too fast...?
Not like I'm one to talk since I have never been in love.' She hid her cheeks, sure that her face is as red as roses.
