Sighing one last time, his attitude quickly changed as his mouth began to water looking at the scrumptious meal. Wiping a bit of drool, he wasted no time in diving right in as he carefully sliced his way to the heart, the greatest treasure of a dragon's body or so it was said.
He always wanted to eat his so-called friend wondering just what kind of amazing boost he could get but managed to hold himself back all these years for reasons he can't quite remember anymore.
Tearing open the chest he spotted the massive organ still beating not yet aware of its own demise.
Licking his lips, Nevan cut off a rather large piece, promising he would save at least half for his wife, maybe a third if it was good.
Expectations rather high, he slowly took a bite, savoring one of the most delicious if not the best meat he's ever had.
After swallowing he waits a few minutes, expecting the power-up moment to hit him at any time.
When it came though it was a major disappointment, it strangely felt like the time he had seconds of any powerful unique creature, underwhelming. He didn't understand why it seemed like he already had a dragon before, it didn't make sense. There was no way he would forget, not to mention this is the only dragon to have ever existed as far as he knows.
Confused and feeling sad about such a letdown, he gathers all the appendages together, using his aura to hold them as he flies off before more humans came around bothering him.
Making his way back he finds a nice place to place his prize before zipping over to where his wife is.
Hearing talks and a bit of arguing inside, Nevan decides to bust down the door,- "Honey I'm home."
Rebekah zooms over, not looking entirely thrilled that he was back,- "Now Explain yourself! You can't just tell me to go hide and then go off who knows where and do who knows what, leaving me worried wondering what the hell is going on!"
Nevan grins sheepishly still, in his Noblesse form. The others stare at him curiously as he shifts back,- "Ah apologies my dear, I'll try and remember that, but instead of telling you, how about I show you, first, let me grab my new stuff if Freya is finished spell crafting them that is."
Hearing her name, Freya snaps out of her curiosity at what form that was, and hands him the goods,- "We didn't have another cellphone on hand so I decided to just give you mine, I"m due for an upgrade anyway."
"Sure, sure, I don't much care, just let me go change into this stuff, and then we'll be on our way, so say your goodbyes, we won't be coming back," said Nevan.
"Um, where will you go?" Asks Freya, saddened at the prospect of everyone splitting up again.
Ignoring her, he goes change while Rebekah answers for him,- "I believe we're going back to California for a bit, but you have our number, we'll or more like, I will keep in touch, don't be shy now, and you better call the moment anything serious happens. That goes for you too Elijah, Freya says someone is coming for you, big deal or not, you call us if you need us, I don't want to hear about another brother passing,"
Elijah,- "We've been over this, remember there is no more white oak stake, that was the last of it, don't put your life on hold for us, you have a family of your own now, treasure it."
Freya nods,- "I will call if need be, but we will be fine, nothing to worry about," She says confidently, not wishing to put any more strain on her sister or guilt her into staying.
Rebekah's eyes water a bit with a grin, hugging them both goodbye,- "Stay safe."
Freya,- "And you too sister."
Elijah grins, wiping a stray tear falling from her face- "Until next time Rebekah."
Rebekah smiles,- "Shouldn't be too long, you will come for the birth won't you."
Elijah,- "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Nevan shows back up with news,- "Well if you're not against a bit of help with whatever it is you guys are doing, I just talked with one of my old pack members who was trying to get in touch asking to help look for a missing member, I told them to come here, she'll be able to help you while she's here."
Rebekah perks up,- "Old pack member? Anyone, I know?"
Elijah cuts in, not thrilled at the prospect,- "That won't be necessary..."
Nevan grins,- "Too late, she's here, try and get along," he says walking out just as an athletic-built short-haired brunette with brown eyes showed up, wearing sportswear, allowing her six-pack abs to show.
"Aurelia, good to see you, it's time I introduce you to my mate."
This caught her attention as her curious eyes darted between the ones stepping out of the house, quickly settling on Rebekah. Scrutinizing her from top to bottom, not immediately seeing anything that special, wondering why he would pick her. It was then she caught the all too familiar scent of vampires, not just from the unknown male, but it seemed to be mixed in with the possible mate's scent as well. This greatly confused her, there was no way her lord would allow another to touch something that was his, he was an Alpha through and through.
Rebekah feeling challenged by the unknown woman's glare started to unleash a bit of pressure.
Impressed she could exert pressure on her, the slight discomfort wasn't enough for Aurelian to back down, Nevan deserved far better.
"What's going on?" Asked Elijah, picking something up from the awkward atmosphere.
Nevan shushed him,- "Nothing to worry about, let it play out."
Rebekah picking up on his voice frowned as she unleashed more pressure, eyes glowing a reddish-orange tint.
It didn't end until Aurelia was finally forced to a knee and bowed her head in defeat, satisfied.
Rebekah grinned turning to her husband.
Nevan matched her smile as he walked over to introduce the new girl,- "This is Aurelia, one of my most trusted pack members, she'll be invaluable to you while we're away."
He went on to say,- "I actually didn't expect you so soon." Interrupting any rejections Elijah was about to make.
Aurelia gave a bow to him,- "You've picked a good mate my lord, and as for why I'm here so soon, when I couldn't get in touch after multiple attempts, I took it upon myself to come up here and go searching, I wasn't far when you called."
Nevan,- "That she is and as we discussed earlier I'll be heading in the direction so I'll take care of it, meanwhile you should stay here and help out my extended family, I heard something about something going on and you can help keep them safe."
"Family?" Aurelia cocked her head, looking over the other members, particularly the vampire and the witch.
Rebekah stepped up introducing everyone,- "Hello Aurelia, I'm Rebekah, this is Hayley, her daughter, my niece Hope, my brother Elijah, and my sister Freya," she said to an unquestioning Aurelia who took everything for face value, believing in her alpha's mate who is now also an alpha above her. Not bothering to think on the particulars of how they were even related, rationalizing it as a close bond figure of speech if anything, still completely unaware that Rebekah was part vampire.
When Aurelia's and Freya's eyes met there was a bit of a spark as they stared a little too long at one another.
Waiting patiently at first, Nevan grew bored. Thinking that was long enough, he decided to leave not caring about any awkwardness he may have created,- "Alright time to go, don't want it to rot before we get there."
Hearing the annoyance in his voice, Rebekah playfully slaps him after just introducing someone new and gives everyone one last wave before Nevan shifts back to Noblesse form and sweeps her off her feet, flying away.
