The massive contracted beasts took up positions along the outer perimeter, while Bai Xifeng, Xie Lanying, Ning Shoukai, Xie Yanlin, Xie Zixin, Xie Jingguo, Xie Fengge, and Xie Qingge spread out in front, perfectly intercepting the incoming wave of enemies.
The dark-clad assassins reached them in the blink of an eye.

Xie Lanying's longsword collided fiercely with a descending sabre, sending a shower of bright sparks flying into the air. At the exact same second, her White Tiger, Xue-er, pounced toward another closing assassin, its massive, razor-clawed paw slamming directly into the man's exposed chest.

The assassin was blasted backwards like a broken kite, crashing violently into several thick tree trunks before finally slumping to the dirt, completely unconscious.
"That's one down!" Xie Lanying grinned, parrying another strike.
"Hahaha! Hey, don't steal all the fun for yourself!" Ning Shoukai laughed loudly, his eyes ablaze with excitement.
