Jake looked at me as if I would give him permission to do so. I smiled knowing that if he did accept the job then my mother and Catherien, along with Chloe, would be livid. He took my smile as yes to the question. He was also really good at his job. I remember him being much happier when he was a diplomat. I am happy to see that he will finally be able to do it again.
A giant smile graced his face as he replied, "It would bring me great honor to do that job."
"Well then you will start now." Jasper said as he shook hands with Jake.
We all chatted for a few hours at the lake house before we got hungry and decided to venture back to the castle. We were currently walking through the hall next to the throne room when my mother came bursting through the doors. Chloe followed behind her with a brand new hair cut. I smiled as I seen that she wouldn't look into my eyes. Jasper stood to my right but slightly angled behind me so that he could still talk to Jake and Ash who were following behind us to my left side. My mother blocked our path as she stormed towards me. I swear that if it was any colder out there would be steam rolling off her head from how red it was.
Before anyone could react, my mother slapped me across the cheek. My head snapped to the side where I could see Catherien, wearing one of my mother's dresses that I designed, and Annan exiting the throne room slightly down the hall. I whipped my head back towards my mother as she started going off on me.
"You ungrateful bitch. How could you attack your sister? After everything she has done for you. Look at her. Her beautiful hair is gone now because of you and you won't even try to convince Jasper to let her keep some of her possessions. I am ashamed to call you my daughter." my mother said as she looked me up and down.
I put my hand on Jasper's arm to stop him from cutting in and stopping her. I could see Catherien duck her head down and scurry back into the throne room when she seen Jasper. I could also feel Ash come stand next to me and Jake behind me while my mother ranted.
"I have gave you everything you have ever needed. I even allowed your father to spoil you. Now look at you. A trashy whore surrounded by men. Even your outfit looks just as slutty as the one Chloe described. You also dared to disrespect the late king. How dare you train with men? You are a lady. You should not even touch a sword or any weapon for that matter." my mother continued.
I finally had enough when I spoke. "Please shut up." I said stretching out the 'e' in please. "Did she not tell you what she said to me? I understand that I am the family disappointment. But hey I'm not the one who you married off to save your precious crown only for her husband to be stripped of everything the day her child is born. So what if I don't wear what you deem appropriate. I look fucking great. So what if I train with men. I am fucking great at it. Today I did cut off Chloe's hair and threaten her because she was being selfish bitch who cannot stand to not get her way when she tries to flirt with a man to keep some of her possessions. I have put up with everyone's belittling. But I'm done with it now. After all of that, I am not the one who is running around throwing a temper tantrum. What happened to being a dignified queen? Here you are acting like a child." I said with a smile on my face. It felt good to get this off my chest. "You are just jealous that my father loved me more than those two, whom of which you spoiled so much that they cannot take care of their royal duties. Which thanks to me have been taken care of along with yours while you were way too happy to let the kingdom fall while you doted on them. So if you don't mind, I am going to go eat with my brother and friends."
