Chapter 1 - Prologue

The night air was dry, the sky cloudless, a full moon shining bright. The dark woods were strangely quiet, the animals and insects barely making a sound. Even the wind had gone silent. A shadow long and thin made its way slowly through the long stiff grass, following the sound of water.

It reached the edge of the pond and kneeled down, staring strangely at its reflection in the water. It slowly reached towards the water and touched the reflection making the water ripple. The longer he stared at himself, the deeper the frown on his face became. The boy of no more than Seventeen blinked his eye a few times trying to make sense of what he saw.

Even though he did not know his name, who he was and why he was here, he felt deep in his mind that this reflection staring back at him, did not belong to him. The shoulder length brown hair and more importantly the eye, bright and green like fresh meadow.

One of his eyes had a long scar going from the top of his eyebrow to the beginning of his cheek bone, sealing his left eye closed, unable to be opened.

He had awakened alone in the middle of the woods with no recollection of himself. He had started walking trying to find his bearing and figure out which direction he was heading towards. Even though he did not know who he was, he understood the world around him, what each plant and insect name was and how to get out of the woods.

As he walked he had found the pond in the center of the forest, sighing deeply he sat back on the ground and looked towards the bright moon in the night sky. His heart was beating steadily and his mind was clear, no matter how he went through his brain he was unable to find any information on who he was, there were no memories from any moment in his life.

His mind seems to have been wiped clean. He laid his head back and closed his eye allowing the scent of pine to fill his senses and drifted into a deep sleep.
