Wang Cai blushed, as such matters of the boudoir were difficult for her, a palace maid, to speak of.
"Miss, for concubines in the Imperial Harem to attend to His Majesty, their name must first be chosen by His Majesty from a card. His Majesty has many concubines, and the chance for your name to be chosen is quite small; what's more... you haven't been granted the title of concubine yet, so your name is not even on a card..."
Xia Weibao was stunned. Does this mean that in the future, to meet Lu Hualiang, she would have to wait for her name to be chosen?
What is the point of such a life? She is a person, not a cabbage at a roadside stall, standing among a bunch of women waiting for him to choose.
Looking at the empty and luxurious room, an unprecedented feeling of loneliness surged within her, making her nose tingle with the urge to cry.
Before, when she lived alone in the depths of the mountain forest, she never felt so lonely.
