The terrifying scream was absolutely impossible for a human to produce. Before Baruk could react, the few followers behind him were already shouting loudly and turning to flee without any hesitation.
Just as Baruk was about to call out to stop them, the cave door was slammed open with a roar, and a shadow emerged. That ink-black shadow was particularly eerie under the dim light!
Before Baruk could react, the shadow suddenly trembled, as if opening its bloody mouth wide. The sharp sound pierced through ear drums, terrifying to the extreme, as if it would pounce in the next moment.
"Ahhh——"
Baruk could no longer hold it in, almost scared out of his wits!
He turned and fled, rolling and crawling, not daring to pick up his shoe that had fallen off, as if a moment's delay would allow the shadow to catch up with him. He was almost frantic.
"Wait for me! Wait up!" Baruk shouted, with no more confidence left, already scared stiff by that heart-wrenching scream.
