Summer Ford froze, her face stiffened as she looked up at him in disbelief.
Yvonne Yates seemed to be in shock, having suddenly received so much money. Her mind went blank for a while, but when she came to her senses, her face broke into a smile. "It's enough, of course it's enough. Thank you, Laurent!"
Her eyes were fixed on the check from start to finish, as if glued to it, never looking away.
Seeing her like this, Summer Ford's eyes were full of mockery.
"Remember what I said. In the future, if anything happens to the family, don't come looking for her. She has nothing to do with this family anymore!" Ethan Laurent said coldly once more.
"Okay, okay, I understand." Yvonne Yates nodded vigorously.
Ethan Laurent released his hand from the check, took Summer Ford by the wrist, and led her straight out of the house without a glance backwards.
