After the group of David and pals left, the portal behind them shut off leaving the two poles in the ground slightly glowing.
"After hearing from all of us and David we are sure to get some help after a day or two, we will leave the nexus here so they can put up a forward base in this town after cleaning it up, giving us a stronghold to fall back too if we cant find any help in this world." Rak explained.
"So you used me as a lure to get someone who can give us help here. How heartless are you? what if i was actually punished for what you made me do." Larry said betrayed.
"Its fine, i wouldn't let them." He replied. Then he turned to Anubis and asked him if there was any more towns close by that might give them information on what is around the area.
"I can not say. I have been hiding from others in thew woods that past while, i only knew of you after seeing you take down that pack of shadow panthers." Anubis explained.
Looking around at the destroyed town and back to his squad Rak told them his order "Get any map you can find or some trace of news about which direction to head too. We need to know where we are going."
After hearing that, Anubis had a puzzled look on his face wondering if he should ask the questions on his mind. Noticing his look Larry asked him what was on his mind. "You come from a highly advanced civilization right? Do you not have the technology for such scouting to be done easily?" he finally asked.
"Some world we have never discovered might have such technology but we do not. Scouting in these worlds have to be done manually for most of the technology we have is big and bulky and to make sense of it all would require people who have more experience than we do. Once the others show up, if they do, then they will have the tools to conduct more thorough searches." He explained to the God.
Everyone proceeded to split up and search the town looking for merchant shops or bigger houses that might have important documents in them. After an hour of searching they all met back up in the big mansion in the center of town to show their findings. All that was found was just a few letters that some people had from who-knows-where and records mentioning other towns but not where they are located. Except in the mansion's study.
In it, there was a massive map that covered the whole right wall. The map was extremely detailed and showed everything they were looking for. The map showed the continent that made up this world. It seemed small where the world was just one giant land mass and only slightly more than half of it was documented. It was oval shaped and near the center a mountain range seperated the two sides.
Pictures of towns and villages could be seen here and there showing their names and where to find them. The town they found themselves in and now destroyed labeled Troya, was the only place located to the north of the mountain range with the closest city covering the gap between the two a bit south a fortress city with its name labaled as Bastion.
Finding their next destination and after scavaging what resources they can use they set off torward the north to find more humans of this world. Around the town was nothing but flatlands and out of the south gate there was a faint trail. likely from people bringing in goods to sell and people migrating to the city. By the looks of it, this was a frontier town that hoped to be the crux of trade when people start exploring the north. After years of demons being asleep humans must have forgot about them or thought they were no threat if they have not seen one in so long.
Little did they know that only a few short years of building this town and exploring a bit more, one lone demons would come and ravage the place to the ground.
A few hours after leaving for the south, wild creatures made their way into the city attracted by the semll of blood and meat, followed by three red humanoid creatures likely lured from afar by a jarring explosion in the distance.
