Chapter 5 - 3. Trapped and Confused

'Wake up.' The tricksters voice ordered. "Wake up." Another voice urged Zane. "Hay kid wake up."

Zane had awoken in a dimly lit room made of stone and wooden bars, and a terrible stench filled the room.

"What the *cough* hell?..*cough**cough*" Zane quickly stood up while continuing to cough

"Not so fast kid, hear have some water." The man handed a bucket of water to Zane "A good thing you woke up, I overheard them saying they would eat you if you didn't." The man gave a half hearted smile. "So what's your name kid."

Zane drank some of the water, it wasn't the best but it would do. Zane had so many thoughts going through his head. 'What happened and what's going on? Who would eat me, what are they cannibals? And who is this guy?' He immediately knew the plane crash was not a dream he could still feel the effects of his injury.

"My name is Zane....." he paused for a minute. "Where am I, what is this place?" He looked at the strange man with a confused face "And who are you?"

"You can call me Cross." He stretched his arm out seeking a handshake. "And you are in the Dark Region in a place called Bleak Rock." Cross frowned.

Zane reluctantly shook his hand while also giving a puzzled expression. "Dark Region? Bleak Rock?"

"You come from under a rock or something kid? Everyone should no this." Cross stared at him with concern. 'Did this kid get hit in the head or something.' He thought to himself.

"Why are we in this cell and what the hell is that smell?" Zane questioned further.

"Well the smell is a lot of things, and this cell is simple." Cross stood up and walked to the cell's bar's. "You can call this place a work camp. They take POW and make them work in this mine." Cross gave Zane a serious look.

Zane thought to himself for a moment, he still didn't understand where he was but he did know this wasn't his world. Zane also new he can't keep going in circles with this guy so he told him everything, like how he got hear and somethings about his world. Cross didn't really get it but he tried his best understanding, he didn't seem to have a problem believing it either this world was strange so anything could happen. Cross eventually told Zane about the new world he was in. The world was also called earth but very different, it ha two suns and a larger moon it also had lots of different races like in some kids fantasy book and the world was broken into 2 regions. The Light region is a place for all to live in peace any race could live in it freely, the Dark region was controlled by a war mongering daemon that wants everything and seeks to eradicate certain races primarily humans. He also explained that one of the primary ways of fighting in this world was magic, he explained that everyone had a power inside themselves called mana and to be able to use this mana you would need a element core. The element core is needed to use your mana so you can use magic, at first people had fire, water, earth, and wind element cores which would allow them to use magic of that element, some people did have a core and some had a mixture of elements in their cores. As time went on new elements started appearing in the cores giving people different magic abilities.

"And I'm Sergeant in the Imperial army. I was captured after a failed attack on the Dark Region that was almost 2 months ago." Cross looked ashamed "Ah, damn none of that matters anyhow we....." Cross was cutoff.

"HUMANZZ! TIME FOR WORKZZ!" A strong voice yelled throughout the tunnels followed by heavy footsteps.

"Is that our captures?" Zane questioned.

"Yeah kid, best be quiet and do what they tell you." Cross stood up and began to help Zane.

"Ahh! Zleepy humanzz awake, otherzz humanzz didn't wake from metal monzter zo we eatzz them." a strange creature appeared at the cell door with a wide grin.

'What the hell! Is this that Orc race Cross was talking about?" Zane thought to himself.

"Outzz the cell time for workzz!" The Orc ordered.

The creatures before them looked like a bulldog and a wild boar had a love child. And had many shapes and sizes being mostly large and brawly and the occasional small weak looking Orcs, but Cross said they still had strength beyond a normal human. We walked in a single file line through the tunnels occasionally stopping and letting more prisoners in line, in a matter of 5 minutes over 300 people had been put in line. Light could be seen up front but before that everyone had passed by a room with a foul stench leaving many pale and scared faces some even vomited. Once Zane passed by he understood, the first thing he noticed was dead bodies hanged and gutted then rotisseries and giant pots with fires going underneath.

Something else cought Zane's eye. "Bastards!" Zane whispered to himself. He had seen the familiar uniforms of his school and familiar face of classmates all cut up.

"Oh, that's right kid whatever you do don't eat the fucking meat!" Cross whispered.
