Chapter 2 - World Setting

1. The Planet

Name:AerthyraSize: ~50× larger than EarthGravity: Slightly heavier than Earth, creating denser bodies and slower agingWater Coverage: 50% oceansLand: 51 massive continents, each larger than Earth's largest countriesClimate: Extreme—vast deserts, endless forests, frozen kingdoms, storm continentsLey Density: Extremely high; magic saturates the planet itself

Because Aerthyra is so large:

Travel takes years, not weeks

Civilizations evolve independently

Myths are often true in one continent and false in another

No single empire has ever ruled the whole world.

Not even the gods.

2. The Binary Suns

Aerthyra orbits two suns:

Sol Aurex (The Golden Sun)

Bringer of growth, order, life

Stronger during long summers

Empowers Elven magic

Sol Noctis (The Ash Sun)

Dim, red-black, slow-burning

Bringer of decay, ambition, wrath

Empowers Demonic magic

When both suns align (once every 73 years):

Gods become strongest

Reality thins

Cataclysms occur

Kael was born during such an alignment.

That was not coincidence.

3. The Twelve Moons

Each moon governs a metaphysical law:

Lunara – Time

Vael – Memory

Thryx – Blood

Elios – Fate

Moruun – Death

Ishka – Madness

Seren – Healing

Khar – War

Nyxa – Shadows

Aurel – Faith

Bram – Flesh

Oros – Balance

Gods draw power from moon convergence.Kael later learns how to silence moons—temporarily.

That knowledge nearly destroys the world.

4. The Races of AerthyraA. Elves – The Eternal Bloom

Appearance

Fair-skinned, luminous

Tall, slender, symmetrical

Eyes reflect moonlight

Appear ageless after maturity

Aging

Do not age physically

Can be killed

Memory overload can break them

Magic Affinity

Water – Healing, purification, regeneration

Air – Speed, levitation, sound, storms

Plant – Growth, binding, regeneration, living cities

Cultural Curse

Emotionally distant

Fear change

See humans as temporary

See demons as errors

They believe stagnation is peace.

They are wrong.

B. Demons – The Undying Ember

Appearance

Dark-skinned (obsidian to deep crimson)

Horns or markings vary by lineage

Eyes glow faintly in darkness

Aging

Do not age

Grow stronger through conflict

Emotionally volatile but honest

Magic Affinity

Dark/Shadow – Fear, concealment, corruption

Fire – Destruction, rebirth, rage

Earth – Strength, resilience, shaping land

Cultural Truth

Demons value strength and loyalty

They do not worship gods

They respect Kael before humans ever did

Demons understand one truth early:

Power always demands a price.

C. Humans – The Burning Moment

Appearance

Skin tones similar to Copperish

Compact, powerful builds

Expressive faces, intense eyes

Aging

Lifespan: ~120 years

Peak physical years are short

Mortality defines their culture

Magic

None.

Humans cannot channel raw magic.

But—

Human Skills Are Not Mundane

Through discipline, training, and obsession, humans develop Skills that:

Bend reality slightly

Mimic magical effects

Do not rely on ley energy

Examples:

Sword mastery that cuts magic

Speed that outruns spells

Endurance that ignores wounds

Focus that resists divine influence

Gods fear humans most.

Because humans cannot be commanded magically.

Kael's upbringing among humans saved him.

5. The Gods – The First Thieves

Nature

Not creators

Born from the first alignment of suns and moons

Feed on belief, fear, sacrifice

Powers

Creation

Destruction

Full access to all magic

Reality alteration within belief range

Aging

Do not age

Can be weakened

Can be sealed

Rarely truly destroyed

The Lie

The gods claim they made the races.

The truth:

Elves evolved with the world

Demons formed from planetary pressure and fire

Humans adapted faster than gods could control

Gods simply arrived first.

And took credit.
