The twins had spent nearly the entire night laughing, racing around the Sleepscape and inventing increasingly bizarre games whose rules seemed to change every few seconds.
At one point they had declared the Violet Mystic Life Tree to be a giant mushroom and spent nearly an hour trying to convince Ashy that it should be harvested.
And then Ashy had somehow encouraged them further by claiming mushrooms could indeed grow leaves if they cultivated long enough, forcing Lin Mu and Little Shrubby to stop the two serpents before they attempted to dig around the Tree's roots.
Eventually the excitement had faded.
Now, nearly eleven in the morning, the twins still lay curled together beneath one of the large branches of the tree, occasionally twitching their tails while mumbling incoherent nonsense in their sleep.
"They're taking much longer than I expected," Lin Mu muttered.
Little Shrubby stretched lazily nearby before glancing toward the sleeping serpents.
"They played really hard."
