Arcan bared his teeth, "Who cares?"
"No, you misunderstand my point here. There's time for dueling later."
Merin's concern was the mental condition of the seniors. Those who wandered in the Otherworlds often had to fight with everything on the line. Since they just came back these seniors would need to take some time to acclimate themselves to The Gated Arena once again. Learning to hold back slightly so their juniors can learn.
A premature duel could be taken more seriously than you'd want it to. Far far more seriously.
With the protections in place by The Gated Arena you normally wouldn't have to worry. However the Otherworlds also had their own unique laws that had to be circumvented. The Seniors might subconsciously see someone unable to be hurt and put in place a technique to do actual serious harm.
