With the defeat of the Mermale, the other lesser Heresy infected creatures scattered. Gear's sensors didn't pick up on any more. Although a bit hesitant he disengaged the Overgear armor.
Wrock crouched next to one of the smoldering pieces, "Gear. If we had this level of Spirit, the Heresy Heart wouldn't have been nearly as much of a threat."
"I know all too well.", Gear mumbled.
"Sorry. Didn't meant to say you were weak back then. What I meant to say is that you've come a long way since then. Take pride in that."
Gear picked up the Ruby, his Spirit steadily piercing through and fighting against the Heresy within it. While he purified it he clarified, "I do. I've taken no offense. I just think it's a shame it's taken this long, and I still have so far to go."
