Alex and his Pokemon spend the remainder of this 40-hour journey in a peaceful and relaxed manner.
No training and no Pokemon fights for a whole day.
Alex and his Pokemon, who only get one or two full days off once a month, enjoyed this short vacation very much.
Even though Alex gives his Pokemon a little bit of free time every day, it doesn't compare to a full day and most of Alex's Pokemon had a happy expression upon hearing this.
Only Scizor and for a bit, ditto use this free time to train some more.
Alex wasn't surprised that crazy training junkie Scizor even worked out in his spare time and just a little surprised that Ditto joined him.
Ditto, as always, played a few matches of Chess with Gardevoir, which he loses, but today, he played fewer matches and spent most of his time training.

Alex also used this time to test what difference Ditto's [Transform] had now that it had reached the master rank.
[Transform] has always been a weird move that's extremely difficult to upgrade, and Alex had no idea how long it would take for Ditto to get this move to the master rank without Mew's help.
But because of this difficulty, Alex also had high expectations for this move on the master rank.
And after Alex did some testing with this move, he noticed the big difference in this move between the Expert and Master rank.
[Transform] on Expert rank will let a Ditto transform into a Pokemon that has seen it before, but that Pokemon's HP, Level, and Master rank move will not be copied. Even the Ability, Height, and Weight of the Pokemon are copied perfectly but not these three things.
Still, even on the Expert rank, [Transform] is not a weak move and is extremely versatile.
But as soon as the move reaches the Master rank, the move becomes completely different from what it was before the improvement.
[Transform] on the Master rank lets Ditto not only copy the Master rank moves but also the HP of the Pokemon.
This means that Ditto becomes almost a perfect copy of the Pokemon after using [Transform]. Only the level of the Pokemon is not copied.
Unfortunately, Alex noticed a downside to this "improvement" that wasn't there before.
[Transform] on the Master rank now only allows Ditto to transform into the Pokemon(s) he saw on the same day.
In his test, Alex noticed that after one night, Ditto could no longer transform into Flannery's Pokemon.
Although he hadn't tested it yet, Alex had the suspicion that every time Ditto goes to sleep he couldn't transform into the Pokemon he saw during his last "awake time".
Alex naturally couldn't force Ditto to stay awake forever after knowing this fact, so he couldn't do anything about that disadvantage.
But even with this disadvantage, Ditto is still the strongest Pokemon, at the same level, in Alex's team.
Ditto sees at least every morning all of Alex's Pokemon and thus effectively a perfect copy of each of these Pokemon.
Ditto is truthfully almost invincible against Pokemon at the same level.
Against Umbreon, Ditto can transform into Blaziken, or against Blaziken, Ditto can transform into Gardevoir/Crobat.
As long as Ditto didn't have a level disadvantage, Ditto is almost invincible.
So, as soon as Ditto improves its potential from Shallow Diamond to Diamond, in the future, it will catch up with most of Alex's Pokemon once they reach the Champion level and it will no longer have a level disadvantage against Alex's other Pokemon.
"An SS-ranked Pokemon will start leveling slower at level 60, but an SS+ Pokemon will only start leveling slower at level 65." Those were Giovanni's words and words that Alex doesn't doubt.
He didn't think Giovanni would lie to him about such an unnecessary thing.
As Alex pondered over the future of Ditto, he saw from the edge of his vision that Scizor had leveled up.

During this time, Alex spent most of his time with Flannery and meditating in his room.
Alex had formed a friendship with Flannery and even got Flannery's phone number during this time.
He didn't know if Flannery saw him as anything other than a friend, but he had a hunch that wasn't the case.
Alex had the feeling that Flannery was a little bit interested in him even if she wasn't "in love".
Although he had no real interest in Flannery, he wasn't bothered by Flannery's attempts to get close.
She was discreet and rarely flirted with him in their conversations.
Flannery and Alex said their goodbyes, and Alex was alone again.
Alex was in Slateport City right now, not far from the town where he wants to set up his headquarters.
