Chapter 492 - Pokemon master of tactics: Chapter 492

Alex and his Pokémon continued to defend their position without much difficulty, the battlefield in front of them already littered with defeated wild Pokémon.

As the minutes passed, however, Alex began to notice a gradual shift.

The buffs his Pokemons had carefully built up earlier were starting to wear off.

They didn't disappear all at once, but slowly weakened over time, their effects fading bit by bit. The sharp edge his team had at the beginning of the battle was dulling, even if only slightly for now.

Still, it didn't concern him.

Even without the full strength of those buffs, his Pokémon were more than capable of holding this position. The waves continued to come, but the pressure hadn't increased enough to make a real difference.

More importantly, Pokémon at the late-elite level still appeared only rarely.

Most of what reached him remained below that threshold, and against opponents like those, the outcome was already decided the moment they entered his range.

Alex stood calmly, observing the battlefield with an indifferent expression as he issued occasional commands, adjusting his team's positioning with minimal effort.

For him, the situation remained completely under control. Then, without warning, Sophie appeared beside him.

She was slightly out of breath, as she spoke. "Ethan might need your help. A late-level elite Pokémon is heading straight for his position."

Alex turned his head slightly, his expression unchanged.

For a brief moment, he said nothing.

His mind ran through the situation quickly. He didn't want to send anyone's Pokemon alone to a place where he could help immediately.

At the same time, if Ethan was overwhelmed, the left flank could collapse, which would create a far more dangerous situation overall.

After a second of consideration, he made his decision. He glanced at Crobat. "Go, Support Ethan. But come back immediately once you have defeated the late elite Pokémon or if you have taken too much damage. "

Crobat smiled and said through their mental connection, "You're worrying too much. Don't worry, if I'm really in danger, I'll just run away."

Alex smiled slightly as he replied mentally, "That's surprisingly clever of you. I thought you'd fight for your life like an idiot."

Crobat showed a fake shocked face as he said, "You thought that and you're still sending me there? Is that your plan to get rid of me? You really are an evil trainer."

Alex chuckled and said nothing.

Luxray, who overheard all this, wore a shocked expression. It seemed he didn't understand that it was a joke.

He quickly ran up beside Gardevoir and said, "Gardevoir, did you hear that? Our trainer wants to send a family member to his death because he doesn't like him. Even though Crobat is very annoying, isn't that too much? Quick, we need to gather and go on strike."

Gardevoir smiled when she heard this and simply thought, 'How cute.'

She then looked at Luxray and said, "How did you even come up with words like 'strike'? You really need to watch less Human TV."

Luxray, sensing that Gardevoir didn't understand the seriousness of the situation, said loudly, "Hey, how can you stay so calm? That's not funny."

Gardevoir smiled broadly and asked, "Why isn't a joke funny?"

Luxray processed these words for a few seconds before he understood what Gardevoir meant.

His trainer and Crobat were joking.

Luxray's face turned red, and he said, "Please don't tell the others about this."

Without waiting for a reply, he ran off, pretending he'd never had the conversation.

Gardevoir's only thought was, 'Cute.'

Crobat with a sharp screech and a powerful flap of his wings, he shot into the air, disappearing toward Ethan's position at high speed. There was a certain eagerness in his movement, as if he welcomed the chance to kill a stronger opponent.

Alex then shifted his attention to Gardevoir.

he said calmly. "Keep monitoring the life energy from crobat and all Pokemons in the area. If anything unusual appears or anything that doesn't appears correct, inform me immediately."

Gardevoir gave a slight nod, her eyes glowing faintly as her Psychic abilities spread outward, carefully scanning the battlefield.

Fortunately, Crobat is still close enough for her to perceive everything there.

Sophie remained where she was for a moment, watching Alex and his Pokémon with a mixture of relief and tension.

Alex, however, had already turned his attention back to the battlefield.

...

There were no problems, and after less than a few minutes, Crobat appeared next to Alex with hardly any damage.

As he landed, he looked at Scizor and said, "See that? That's the difference between us. I defeated a similarly strong Pokémon without taking any damage myself."

Scizor looked slightly annoyed. "Ha, as if I believe you had a 1v1 battle with that Pokémon, or that it was just as strong as my opponent."

Crobat smiled and replied, "Say what you want, but you know I'm right."

This time, Scizor Ignored Crobat, much to the surprise of all the Pokémon and Alex.

Alex looked at Scizor and wondered if he was sick or if something was wrong with him.

Crobat flashed a big smile and said, "HAHA, are you quiet because you know I'm right?"

Scizor replied this time, with an arrogant smile, "No, I simply don't need to argue with you about who defeats weak Pokémon better. My battles are at the Champion level, a level you can't possibly understand."

Crobat became furious upon hearing this. "You tin can! You're not even at the Champion level yourself. You can only beat these Pokémon with that help of this weird stone."

Scizor and Crobat both talked to each other as they defeated several unlucky Pokémon that didn't even get their full attention.

Alex, seeing that everything was back to normal, knew that Scizor was not sick and stopped worrying about him.
