Chapter 4 - Loading Up

The Sub-Z unit awoke at 5:30 AM, did the daily necessities in 7 minutes, and went downstairs for a quick breakfast of oats and milk. They then went down to the gym in the basement to workout for around 4 hours. After that, they all took showers, and put on their uniforms, checked their weapons, and set out for Opal- where their mission was taking place.

Opal is the name for a city in Austia. Its original name was Sydney, but no ones called it that in over a hundred years.

Normally, it'd take 3 hours to get to Opal using the EX-Flight 380 aircraft, which all standard citizens usually take to get from one place to another. But, since these were Gen A soldiers- Sub-Z Gen A soldiers, they got a to own a special type of airship.

Kira called a driver to pick up the unit and drive them the aircraft hanger, where their ride awaited.

When the driver arrived, all 10 of the kids put their bags in the trunk, piled into the vehicle and took off.

The hanger was located 30 minutes from the Sub-Z house, so it wasn't too inconvenient to go there for transportation.

30 minutes later they arrived at the hanger. They got out of the car, got their bags out the back and went inside.

Inside, were 10 aircraft's, each one belonging to the 10 highest Division Letters units, which are: Z, Y, X, W, V, U, T, S, R, and Q.

They were lined up in a horizontal line, the first one being theirs, so they walked towards it. Their aircraft was an advanced EX-Flight 500 MAX, a model that hasn't even been heard of, as it was specifically designed for them. All aircrafts are designed uniquely for each individual team, but theirs was still a bit better than it was supposed to be (because of favoritism). It was grey, with a slim build and black tail.

Mason climbed the embedded stairs on the side of the craft and pulled open the hatch to the aircraft and took in the inside. There were 10 seats, 1 at the head of the aircraft, spaced a foot apart from the rest. At the front was a panel of controls for the plane and a large window. It was decorated with led lights, a mini Holo-table, and multiple other electronics.

Helix dropped into the middle lane of the aircraft and sat in one of the chairs, setting the bag he brought with him under it.

"Finally, a seat." He said, sighing in relaxation.

Kira dropped in too. "You were sitting through the entire ride here. How indolent can you get?" Kira asks, putting her bag underneath a chair. She looks up at the hatch. "Javes, you're piloting the aircraft right?"

Javes drops down and sits in the pilot's seat, tossing his bag next to him. "Of course I am, who else's gonna do it?"

"Not me, that's for sure." Said Wish. She jumps down, followed by Serenity.

Zak tosses his bag in-which hit Helix in the head-and jumps into the pit. He grabs a seat next to Helix in the front row of chairs.

"Hurry up guys!" Yelled Zak. "I want to get to Amerc quickly!"

Serenity looked at him in surprise. "You actually care about being punctual? I'm proud of you."

"Well, the food their going to have at the event is going to be fantastic so..." Explained Zak.

"Oh. Seems I overestimated you." Serenity mumbles.

"You four! Hurry and get down here." Kira yells to the top of the aircraft, where they stood.

Hede, Pax, Lucy, and Mason dropped into the pit. Javes pressed a button on the control panel and the hatch door closed shut. The second it closed completely all of the led lights turned on, showering the pit in bright white lights.

Everybody still standing chose a seat, put their bag underneath it and everyone buckled up.

Javes took held his bracelet over the side with his identification number over the blue square left of the 'START' button.

A ding sound went off- indicating the number was registered- and a male voice came on through one of the speakers in the pit.

'Javes Miester- registered. Welcome aboard.' It said.

"AL, send contact to the landing base in Opal. Tell them we'll arrive in 50 minutes." Commanded Javes.

'Contacting Opal landing base.' A few seconds pass. 'Opal has been contacted. They expect your arrival in 35 minutes.'

"Great."

He pressed a few buttons and played with the Holo-screen to the right of him for a bit. When he thought everything was alright, he activated the engine by pushing the START button and slowly wheeled the aircraft towards the exit of the hanger.

After he was outside the hanger, he moved toward the runway. When he reached the start of it he flipped a switch and moved forward- picking up speed gradually.

50...100..; he lifted off the ground at around 150 and retracted the wheels at the bottom of the aircraft.

Javes flew up into the sky at 200 miles per hour, not even close to the fastest speed that can be accomplished.

When he reached an altitude of 3000 feet, he changed trajectory, and went north of the hanger. He increased the speed to around 400 miles per hour, changed the ships function to autopilot, sat back and relaxed- occasionally checking on the systems to make sure everything was okay.

In the back, Pax was passing around her tool sharpener- just in case they needed to do a last sharpening before the mission. Hede was fiddling with his weapon of choice, Wish was using her own handheld sharpener, Mason and Kira were discussing battle formation with occasional inputs from Serenity. Lucy, was tying bows around her weapon, while Zak and Helix were talking about their favorite Low-Ball team. 15 minutes into the ride, they were all talking about the topic of their mission.

Kira, who had been given the file about their mission, pulled it out of her bag and read it to the unit.

"There has been evidence of alien groups causing panic among civilians. Blah, blah, blah...exterminate all nonnative species from the area, signed The Information Core." Kira shared.

"Seems like a simple 'In and Out' situation." Hede Commented.

"They wouldn't come to us if it was simple, Hede." Lucy Said. Hede stuck his tongue out at her. She did it right back.

"She's right Hede. It must be a pretty difficult mission if they wanted us to do it." Kira stated. She turned towards Javes, who was turned around in his chair. "How much time until arrival?"

Javes spun around in his chair to the control panel and swiped his hand over a light blue light- pulling up a Holo-screen with a timer on it. "Around twenty minutes." He said, turning back around

"Okay, thanks." Kira thanked. He nodded his head, looked at Mason, then said; "You're welcome." Mason smiled in approval.

"Twenty minutes. We need a plan. Go." Kira said. "And before you ask why we didn't do this sooner, I was busy."
