CHAPTER 236
The door opened. Argon stepped inside, closing it quietly behind him. He studied Ezekiel for a moment. "You look better."
"I am." He answered simply.
Argon nodded once before slipping both hands into his pockets. "I actually came to ask how you're doing. Personally."
Ezekiel's hands paused briefly over the cuff of his sleeve. "Thank you. But not now. I have somewhere I need to be."
Argon's brows knitted together. "Where?"
Ezekiel met his eyes. "To Gage."
Argon's expression didn't change, but his attention sharpened.
"I'm going to be direct." Ezekiel took a slow breath. "I won't be saying anything to anyone."
Argon simply looked at him. Several seconds passed before he let out a slow breath and nodded.
"All right." He accepted it far easier than Ezekiel had expected. Argon stepped closer. "Just let me ask you this…"
Ezekiel waited.
