She remained motionless.
"This is very important." Ezekiel swallowed hard. "This could be our last conversation."
Nothing. There wasn't even the slightest twitch.
His jaw slowly tightened. He didn't know whether she truly couldn't understand him or her situation. Whatever the reason. It just irked him that she wasn't giving him any reaction at all.
"Melisca!" His voice cracked sharply through the room. The echo bounced off the concrete walls.
Her reaction was immediate. She sprang upright.
A vicious growl tore from her throat as she lunged toward the bars. Her claws slammed against the iron. The runebars shuddered.
"I'm talking to you." His own voice rose to meet hers. "So you better face me." He scolded as if talking to a stubborn child that was throwing a tantrum in front of him.
She snarled louder. Her teeth snapped between the bars as she repeatedly threw herself against them.
