Chapter 116 - Chapter 116 Finding what was long dead

Uttering the last words made the shield blast around her, breaking the ground apart, scattering into the ceasing wind, the gust splintered away the parchment parts floating around, the gold low became brighter, matching the intensity from the shining parchment. It made Shai in the middle seem like the sun, her hand spread her but her eyes glared daggers ahead her lips soft opened,

"The spell," Shai let out but not quite, it was in greek she stared at her hands, seeing her whole arms covered in glowing veins that glowed like the sun, her head spinning feeling the pulsing from the spell, the heat that coursed through her burned aching throat, Shai felt the stiffness of her shoulders keeping up against the wind the scorching heat that got faster and stronger, splattering against the barrier, splintering into brands if green, Shai heard faint voice, Artemis trying to call to her,

"Shai its..still…" Her voice couldn't get past through the shield the wind didn't help it made it more muffled, Shai tilted her head up, feeling the vibration through her veins,

"So much pressure," Shai choked her voice losing, she stared up at them but she couldn't see them, only there engulfed silhouettes from the wind and the faint glow from Artemis bow and arrow, the gold that encompassed around her grew over her making a slight dome, Shai felt the weight from it on her, legs shaking she kept her hands before her twitching aching,

"Gid dammit they told me this wouldn't be this bad what the hell is this,

"Shai…it's the weight.. Of the words,"

Shai's eyes widened, leaning closer to the gold shield moving over her, she couldn't feel the wind, hearing shots bouncing off it, making a huge thud reverberating through the dome, her head rang. Stoping the impulse of covering her hear she stared ahead jaw tightening, hands aching, almost begging her to have a cramp,

"Weight…or it," Shai let out her hands started to curl cramping, she felt the weight pushed down on her with a force of a punch, to her back, Shai lost her footing feeling her foot pulled out from under her into a crack in the ground, leaning on her other leg pressing one of her hands on it. She blinked feeling the pulse from her hand but also the desperate cry coming from outside of the spell,

"Shai! Hold it!"

Artemis shouted her hand stiffen on the arrow stopping she peered beside her at the serpent, his feather fluffed up wings gon his eyes slits, he flicked out his tongue, he could taste how the spell was acting, overwhelmed, the spike in the air along with her heart rate spiked, the serpent watched the dome shake falling downward, their eyes squinted they could see Shai's leg half deep into the ground, her one hand reached out stopping the shield from descending on her, eyes piercing gold hair that should be not moving it was moving like its own entity, the tattered remains of the spell gather around her, while Shai arm shook she bent in. his eyes glanced at Art,

"She's not holding the weight she's collapsing," Quezalcoatla said, his eyes scanning over the dome, if she made the spell she must have overwhelmed it with her own will. The serpent moved closer to the dome when a spark came from it shocking its nose, he hissed moving back,

"Art she's becoming insatiable," Queztalcoatla hissed, his nose pointed at her scales burned from the glaze of the spark, Art placed her arrow back in the bow. Quezatacoalt stunned, flicked his tongue letting out,

"You're more than testing her. And you're not going to lend her a hand?"

Artemis observed the shield shining a few feet from the Shai's voice muffled by it, Artimuse let out a shaky breath releasing the arrow flew through the wind as She answered them both,

"Shai, you have to carry it. Take it in both hands even if you can't even stand!"

Artemis yelled making another arrow peering a the serpent and commanded,

"She needs to handle it. If this is hard on her then Dalos will kill her, summon your wind made into knives dont let there be any mercy. That would be fake, unrealistic,"

Art looked ahead and her eyes caught Shai's eyes looking haunted. Seeing the world around her collapsing hearing the screams coming from a pile of codes speaking to their master one last time, or on the ground seeing the end of a high woman's mind shattered in front of her body taken apart in what Shai held only to be caught by her loyal intendant, saw it a few moments later, seeing the devastation on his face when he realized it. She felt all that, then the crushing weight of the worlds in that spell pressing on her. Art watched in awe and horror. The spell dropped down on Shai, her other leg inching into the ground, her hands above her head tilted up, eyes watered from the force of it,

"Shai! Control it. You're losing your will,"

Shai heard her so slightly that it sounded like a whisper. Shai glanced, feeling the shattered arrows on the shield, and she felt the wind return with vengeance, pounding against the gold globe she held up,

"I know that!" Shai shouted.

The ground went halfway up her legs, feeling the dirt around her feet, the burning sensation through her body, to the point she sees steam coming off her. Shai let out a cry, moving her head down, pushing her fingers up, feeling the heat move from it, beating against the shield. Shai glared up at it, her voice a disdainful cry. The heat was so intense that she felt her skin inside blistering away her veins like living furnaces, scorching her fanning out to the spell, lifting it through her hands. Shai looked up at it. The spell was now wrapped around her arms again, it mixed with her veins out of her own body, she breathed fast, holding it through. When she whispered unconsciously, her hand pushed forward everything that resided out of her came out in a title wave

"Dalos!"

Shai cried, her hands pushed against the shield, moving her legs stepping on the higher stand of dirt. Pushing up, the shield pushed against her hand burning from the contact. Shai cried in pain. It felt like a hot iron when she placed more heat. The presser into her hands. It made the shield bigger, rising as Shai stood back on her feet, her veins like the sun shone through the spell. Shai felt the weight of the world, the weight of the spell spreading off her lingering around her, while the arrows thrashed against it, the wind was a sword swinging at her. At the spell, she stared at them. She saw there was no mercy with this. This couldn't have a moment of empathy. She can't hesitate like she has done before, hesitating with Herman. Not when she stopped a bullet at Apet's head. With this. with him.

"Dammit!"

Shai shouted, her hands radiated heat and strength. Power. Her. Shai stood on her feet, her veins. Her body made it push the spell outward, it sent it closer to Artimus and Queztalcoatla. It was a foot away and fast, it made Artimus flinch. Her arrow fell clattering on the ground. Watching the rapidly approaching them she saw the woman behind the adorn spell that Art helped make rushing ahead. Now an inch to her nose the serpent already in the spell, his body felt the heat that could sear you or engulf you. A warm in brace, it made you take a step back with the amount of power coming from it, Art leaned on her back her bow in the ground keeping her up, she witnessed Shai pushing out what Dalos placed in her she looks like a reborn star her body coming with wave after wave her eyes like molten stars hair as of a strom of gold, veins like streams of gold waters flowing through her system, she felt it all overwhelming her senses when she heard Artimus shouting again,

"Lift them Shai. Pull your hand up, push the spell into the air, make it a shield."

Shai peered at Artimus seeing her in the spell with the serpent, they went closer to her, Artemis looked over he spell it didnt shake like it did when it wanted to collapse not stood stronger thicker, with wave after wave of Shai's outpouring hitting it, causing it to grow larger in took the whole hill, Queztcoatla didn't move, worried the spell would react if they interrupted.

"Art she has it for now, we still can't intervene it will collapse on us and turn Shai into a pile of ash," the serpent explained he didn't even want to blink from the sheer force of Shai's spell coming off her pushing the shield farther over the entire hill side the land had a gold glow hovering over it, gleaming over them, Art glanced at his her hair flaring in the wind. The gold glow that is coming off Shai built over them made the shield, and Shai is the star in the middle. She felt the spell pulsing with her trying to fight against her. She moved her hands and the pieces of the spell gathered on them from nowhere. She read through them all tangled. It was the same words she spoke to start it. Her hands seem to radiate from it, the syllables shine on her face if you could believe it. She watched them in a daze her feeling her body, the goosebumps she had from the heat coming off her, its like a stare burning off her arm hair, she scanned over it the spell still glowing back at her with the same intensity,

"So this is how you want to be played?" Shai hummed, her eyes drifting towards the hill. The spell covered it, nearly touching Olympus, she could see the curve of it glimmered. The parchment moved it showed another sentence this time it was english,

"Finish me," Shai muttered, her hand pulled closer to analyze the assemblage, her finger traced the first letter, she felt the silence from it. Like it wants to sleep, resting after casting something other worldly trap to some but to them a warm shield. A sun, Shai moved it around her hands, reading it again,

"Ok…if that's what you want, weird ass spell," Shai mutters. She shifts her hands again without knowing She whispers a soft, unspoken word that one Shai didn't know of. It just came to her, the parchment didn't appear in a page like she thought it disappeared into her arms, only her veins glowed. The shield above them starts to tear apart above them, breaking into specks in the air, Shai looked up as the dust falling on the the rush wind returned not as hazardous as before, i pushed back her hair curling it, Shai didn't notice Arts widen glazed at her, or the serpent's intense glare, its tail flicking around Artimus, grasping her bow like its the only thing real, she lean forward reached out for Shai her lips parted uttering,

"Shai…what have you just said?"

Shai slowly turned to her drained feeling her body heat evaporate, her hair softened almost showing the brown underneath, her eyes shift slight her browns appeared staring back at Art and Queztocoaltal, her veins stopped for a moment and Shai asked her in return,

"I…I didn't hear you over the buzzing in my ear?"

Art stepped closer, taking her hand, seeing the strength evaporate for a moment,

"You didn't know." Art let out scanning over her blue veins. Art's skin prickled, feeling the sudden rush of power that made it through Shai's body, the gold slightly appeared once more, Art traced it with a soft smile, feeling the serpent near them peering in,

"That was a dead language you used, one from where i come from when they still believed in us,"
