"It hurts, I can't sleep." Julian Rhodes looked at Scarlett Xavier, "Chat with me."
Scarlett nodded, "Okay."
She pulled a chair over and sat down next to the hospital bed.
People who are ill are a bit delicate, so she didn't take it to heart when he threw a tantrum before falling asleep.
Seeing him calmer after a nap, he must have cooled down.
Scarlett looked at him and asked, "Not mad at me anymore?"
"..." Julian was indeed tempted to be mad.
But he knew Scarlett's temper, and when he thought about Jonah Morgan lurking outside, if he got mad at her now, wouldn't he just be pushing her towards Jonah?
He wasn't about to make that mistake.
He told Scarlett, "What's the point of being mad? You never even try to coax me."
"I haven't coaxed you?" Scarlett replied, "Besides Vivian Bell, I haven't spoken this gently to anyone else!"
Julian said, "Really? Not even to your big brother Jonah?"
