Scarlett Xavier thought he was truly baffling.
Julian Rhodes came over, put his arm around her shoulder, and walked back to the room with her.
Scarlett had probably guessed the reason for his happiness: "Did you hear what I said just now?"
Julian replied: "I heard her in your room as soon as I got here, and I was quite upset at first. But when I saw how you treated her, I felt better."
Scarlett found it amusing, "Why does that make you feel better?"
Julian boasted, "You said you like me."
He's now realizing that Yasmine Morgan is quite the divine assist.
"Nonsense! I did not." Scarlett denied it thoroughly, saying to Julian, "When did I ever say I liked you? You really know how to misinterpret my words."
Julian, however, was entirely immersed in his own world, "Last time you told her, I'm your one and only dear, and now you said, you like me. She seems to always get you to say the things you normally wouldn't admit."
