She had known it for a long time. The flaw had been visible to her from the point at which the full endpoint became calculable, which was early enough that she had spent the majority of her time in this world carrying the knowledge of it alongside everything else she was building. She hadn't solved it because the solution wasn't something she could construct. It was something that had to arrive on its own terms, from a direction the plan itself could not produce.
