Birds flew out from their nests and rodents scurried away as Solis ran past mountains and cities on his way to meet his Suns. He stopped occasionally to eat but that was about it. It was a little after three, in the afternoon, when Solis reached the summit of the mountain and he laid eyes on the beautiful city.
He jumped off the mountain and took a discrete trail into the city. The voices of the citizens started to flood his ears as he neared the buildings. He emerged from the forest and walked out onto the narrow streets of Hong Kong.
He broke into a jog and let his nose lead him to a big apartment complex. Their scent was strongest there and now all he needed to do was to search the floors for their presence. He went from level to level as he continued following his nose until it led him to the roof of the apartment complex. There was a set of ladders that led up to the roof but he just jumped up instead. Once he was there, he saw a very make-shift tent with two residents sitting in it.
"Tenacity, Kalamati, I'm here."
The three of them embraced one another.
"Now that we have a bit of time to ourselves, we have to discuss what that thing was."
Tenacity pulled aside a wooden box for Solis to sit on and he and Kalamati sat down as well.
"After invading his mind, which was a flurry of jumbled information, I extracted one word to what his existence is. Apparently, he's known as a 'Drakon' but I've never heard a race with that name. Moreover, he said something like, 'I was born to take on a Sun.' He certainly had the power to do so too. I'm sure you felt it Tenacity, his energy levels matched even that of yours in your true form."
"I know, Solis, and that's the part that scares me."
"With whatever else I could piece together, there seem to be two others like him. The one named 'Anacite' is meant for me, while the other, 'Apathy,' seems to be tailored to you, Kalamati. Sadly, I couldn't find out the extent of their powers."
"Other than that, didn't he look most like a Drake?" Kalamati added.
"Yeah, Solis and I noticed but we just couldn't explain the wings or the fact that he could shoot Asteria from his mouth. From what I can gather, Depravity is a hybrid of a Drake, but what they mixed a Drake gene with is beyond me."
"Bottom line, these 'Drakons' are formidable. So much so that, I believe, they're the strongest opponents we'll ever have to face in our lifetimes."
Solis concluded their short discussion with that and then explained what their plan would be moving forward.
"Until we are sure that Depravity can't track us anymore, we'll be hiding out here at a maximum of two days."
"That sounds like a good plan. Oh, and Solis, you should probably do something about your eyes."
"What do you mean, Tenacity, is there something wrong--Oh, yeah."
Solis stood up and said, "I'll be right back, I need to get some contacts."
"Let me come with you," Kalamati urged.
"No, stay here with Tenacity. He's still injured remember?"
"Don't be like that Solis," his cousin interjected, "I'm all good now. You know what? Why not all of us go together."
"I agree, why not all of us then?"
Kalamati looked at their leader for confirmation.
"Fine, keep up then you two."
Solis walked back over to the ladders and had Kalamati and Tenacity climb down with him. They chatted as they descended each level and found their way back to the streets. Now, the people of Hong Kong were no strangers to "tourists" but every passerby couldn't help but look at Solis.
"Tenacity, let's make this quick. Ask someone where I could get some contact lenses."
His cousin obliged and walked up to someone, while Solis hid behind him, and asked that very same question. The stranger politely gave Tenacity directions and even included shortcuts. They walked away, with thanks, and followed the man's directions to a store that dabbled in all things ocular. There was no need to ask where contacts lenses would be, so Solis walked over the aisle with the label "lenses" and got what he needed. In no time at all, they were back outside and with Solis's eyes concealed.
"You guys haven't eaten yet, have you? And, Tenacity, have you recovered any of your Asteria yet?" Solis wondered.
"We had lunch a little while ago and I'm still not at 100%, but my Asteria levels are close."
"Good to know. You guys head back, I want something to eat."
"Don't take too long, Solis," Kalamati advised.
"Depends on if their food is satisfactory. If it isn't, I'll have to look for more."
Solis made that small joke before walking away. He looked up at the signs and tried to determine where he would have lunch. All of them sounded like good places to eat, so he just picked randomly and went in. It didn't seem too high-end of an eatery but their food definitely smelled nice. Solis told the receptionist that he needed a table, to which the receptionist asked if he was expecting company. He shook his head and the receptionist led him over to his table.
It was a humble place and not too big. The interior was themed red and gold with multiple tables spread throughout. In the middle, was where a fancy-looking aquarium was put for display. Solis's seat was near this aquarium so it provided a nice little view. He picked up the menu set before him and looked through it. As usual, he got only the meats and nothing else, and his waiter gave the expected response. Once the waiter jotted down Solis's ridiculous order, he left to tell the kitchen.
Now alone, Solis went back to staring at the aquarium. The sounds of the kitchen spewed out from the corner of the room and provided a nice ambiance as he waited. A man in a black tuxedo caught his attention as he looked to be conversing with the receptionist. He couldn't quite make out what they were saying but the man picked up the collar and talked into the mic of his tux. Solis left the matter alone and looked back at the fish beside him, he was tempted to have them as a little appetizer. A few minutes later, a group of men in tuxedos arrived and looked to be guarding someone important.
"So you said you guys sat a foreigner with beautiful, brown skin right?" A girl spoke from behind the wall of men.
"Y-yes madam, b-but he didn't have these 'gold' eyes you said he had."
"That's not a problem, I'm confident he's here. Could you point me to where he is?"
"Certainly."
The receptionist pointed to the occupied Solis and the girl broke away from her bodyguards. Solis heard the tapping of heels as they seemed to approach him. So, he turned his head to the noise.
"She found me already? I underestimated the power of her influence."
Solis tried to get away as fast as he could but was tackled to the ground by his new acquaintance. The lady's bodyguards tried to get their mistress off of Solis, which they kind of did. They managed to pick her up but she was holding onto Solis.
"Miss Wang, please do not act so childish here. You'll embarrass yourself."
"Quiet! Leave us be!" Shouted Lyra.
With the amount of attention they were getting now, Solis tried to deescalate the situation.
"Lyra, let's calm down. Try not to cause too much trouble for the people around us."
"Is that what you want, Solis?" She turned to her guards, "Wait outside, please. I would like to talk with my friend here."
"But mistress, we're here to protect you," one of her guards complained.
"Solis here can protect me better than you guys could ever hope to do. Now, do as I say!"
"""Yes, mistress."""
Her three guards walked out of the eatery and left them alone. Lyra pulled a seat away from an unused table and put it beside Solis's.
"Let's sit down now, Solis!"
He took his seat with Lyra still clinging onto him.
"Lyra, if you don't mind, could you let go of me?"
"If I do, you'll just run away from me again."
"Not this time, I promise."
Lyra looked at him with doubtful eyes and reluctantly let go of his arm. She watched as he sat back in his chair and readied herself just in case he bolted.
"I've already ordered my food, Lyra, will you be getting something for yourself?"
"No, I'll just have you feed me your food."
"Then don't complain once you've seen what I've ordered."
Just as he was talking about his food, a huge trolley emerged from the kitchen and made its way over to Solis. Lyra gulped as she saw the mountain of meat that Solis had been brought to Solis.
"Don't worry, Lyra, I'll be eating most of this."
The waiters set out multiple plates before Solis and he wasted no time digging in. He had set aside small portions of meat for Lyra and let her eat at her own pace. Solis vacuumed up his meats while Lyra ate hers in a polite manner. When there wasn't anymore on her plate, Solis asked if she would like more to which she replied no. Like in Hebei, Lyra couldn't help but be amazed at how much and how fast Solis's food disappeared. After he cleaned his plate, Solis let out a burp and then chugged glasses of water.
"Hey, Solis, now that you're done with eating, can we talk about something?"
"I'd like to but I need to meet up with my other friends."
The words "other friends" didn't please Lyra.
"Hmph, I should be your only friend, Solis. You don't need others."
"They say the more the merrier, Lyra."
"Well, I don't need more, I just need you."
Solis let out a sigh. He couldn't blame the girl for how she acted but it was troublesome nonetheless. Having never had a proper friend, or loving bonds, she grew up not knowing how to properly interact with another person. It made sense that she was possessive of Solis.
"Sorry, Lyra, whether you like it or not, I have other friends. I promised them earlier that I would meet back up with them, so I have to go."
He stood up but was tugged back down by Lyra. She looked at him with sad eyes and tightened her grip.
"Look, I'll at least let you come with me. I just need to meet up with them that's all."
He needed her to come with them anyway, there were things he needed to explain to her.
"O-okay, Solis, but what are you going to do with my bodyguards?"
"Don't worry about that, just follow me out."
He stood up once again with Lyra holding tightly onto his shirt. Her guards saw him escorting her out of the eatery and tried to stop them but were put to sleep when Solis passed by. He walked Lyra along the streets and back to the apartment complex to meet Kalamati and Tenacity. It was safe to say that the exchange between Tenacity and Lyra went okay, but it was a different story with Kalamati.
"Solis, I don't like her! Tell her to go away!"
Kalamati took offense to what Lyra said and retracted her hand.
"Well, I was going to be friendly since Solis brought you but you ended up being a brat! Who is she, Solis, and why did you bring such an annoying human along?!"
Lyra stuck her tongue out and hid behind Solis. Kalamati was tempted to push Solis away and just tear off her face but she abstained, for now.
"This is an acquaintance--"
"Friend! Not acquaintance, Solis, I'm your friend!"
"--Excuse me, a friend of mine, Lyra Wang."
"Is that so?"
Kalamati stared daggers at Lyra.
"Calm down, Kalamati, there's a reason I brought her. If you'll calm down, you'll notice that she has an energy signature that's very familiar."
"I thought I was the only one who felt it, guess not. Well, let's take a looksie," Tenacity said.
He walked a bit closer to her, Lyra shuffled away from Tenacity and hid more behind Solis.
"Don't be scared, young lady, I'm this guy's cousin, you see? I won't harm you or anything, unlike that scary woman over there."
Tenacity pointed at Kalamati and gave his signature smile to Lyra. She wasn't persuaded by what he said and dug her face into Solis's back.
"I-I don't believe you. You don't look like my Solis."
"'My Solis?' How dare she--?!"
Tenacity put his hand out and stopped Kalamati from killing the girl.
"I don't blame you for not seeing the resemblance but I can show you proof."
He looked at his cousin and asked, "Can I?"
"Make it quick," replied Solis.
Tenacity stood to his full height and removed his contacts.
"I'm sure you can see it now?"
He looked down at the girl who became entranced by his eyes. She came out from behind Solis all while blushing slightly. Tenacity put his black contacts back in and walked closer to the girl. As he reached his hand out to touch Lyra, she held onto Solis for security.
"Unbelievable, she belongs to his bloodline, huh?"
"Who's?" Asked Kalamati.
"She's a family of Byakko's," Solis told her.
"What? Her? That brat is a demigod?"
Kalamati looked at Lyra once more and had a smile on her face.
"Great...that means she can take a lot more punishment than I thought."
"Wait, Kalamati! Don't!"
She jumped at the girl, who let out a scream, but the two cousins held her back by her arms.
"Solis, save me!"
Lyra clung to Solis again while he was still handling Kalamati.
"Wait, Lyra, not now!"
"Perfect...she's in range."
Kalamati made one of her whips appear and tried to raze Lyra. She winded the whip up and let it crack. The tail-end flew at Lyra but Solis detached himself and took the hit instead. His back started bleeding as he and Lyra rolled across the ground.
"Kalamati, why are you so angry over something so petty?!"
Tenacity tackled her to the ground and immobilized her. Her whip flailed around and tried to hit Lyra, who was just out of reach. Solis left Lyra and stood back up, which let Lyra see the wound Solis sustained.
"S-Solis, y-your back."
"I know, Lyra. Stay out of this and don't interrupt."
He commanded her in such a tone that her body automatically moved away. Her legs shook in fear that she had never felt before.
"Kalamati, stop this. That girl has been through a lot, so be lenient with her."
"Oh, yeah?! So have we, Solis! What makes that hussy think she deserves to be bratty!?"
"Stand. Down. Do not doubt my judgment of her."
"You have no right to say that, Solis, you trusted the humans who betrayed us!"
"HEY! That wasn't his fault remember?!" Tenacity yelled at Kalamati.
"It's alright, Tenacity. She's right."
"If I am, let me kill her!"
"Fine. Tenacity, let her go."
"As you wish."
Tenacity rolled off Kalamati, who jumped onto her feet. Without hesitation, she ran at Lyra but was intercepted by Solis, but he didn't attack her, no, he gave her a hug instead.
"Caerelios, please, believe in me. This girl doesn't deserve your hate. She simply wanted a friend and I gave that to her. It would please me if you could be her friend as well."
His soft tone reached her ears and caused her body to tingle. She relaxed her body and made her whip vanish. Kalamati stepped away and looked into Solis's eyes. His gaze penetrated her soul so she backed away entirely.
"Caerelios, this girl is our subject. Don't you remember that's it's our responsibility, as the Suns, to protect all of those who walk beneath our light?"
"I know, Solis, I haven't forgotten."
"Then give this girl her second chance."
Solis left Kalamati to think about his words, while he walked back to Lyra.
"And you..."
"S-Solis, I-I didn't mean to--"
"...need to trust me. These are the people I grew up with, Lyra, I would like it if you got to know them."
Through her sniffles, she tried to get a few words in but failed as she felt her guilt weigh her heart down.
"I-I'm t-the reason y-you g-got h-hurt, S-Solis. I d-don't d-deserve to b-be y-your f-f-friend."
"You don't need to worry yourself over a small wound like this, I can easily heal it myself."
Solis turned around and showed Lyra his healed back, and just for a second, saw the scars across his body. She ran up to Solis and gave him a big hug and cried into his chest. They stood there for a few minutes as she let her emotions pour out. When she finished she asked Solis the question she wanted to ask for a while.
"Solis, w-what are you exactly?"
"I can't answer that in full, but I am what you would call a 'god.' And for your information, Lyra, you're one of us."
"Wait, me? I am?"
Her heart started beating faster as Solis continued talking and revealing more about her blood.
"Yeah, it's one of the reasons I brought you. Tell me, Lyra, has your father ever mentioned a relative of yours named 'Byakko?'"
"I-I think so. He's my great-great-great-grandfather...I think."
"So, it's like that? Well, he's your distant relative, Lyra, but you have a god's blood for sure. The three of us here can feel it surging through you."
"R-Really? I-If that's t-true, why do you need my help?"
"You see, my companions and I are going to Japan to meet up with your distant relative. The only catch is that we need someone of his lineage to guide us to him because he's always moving. We planned on looking for one when we got to Japan but you're here instead."
Taking in all the information, Lyra started falling into a state of excitement. Her breathing hastened as she accepted the fact that she was a god.
"I-I can't b-believe I'm a g-god."
"Demigod, not god," Kalamati corrected her.
"Now that I've told you this, Lyra, you'll be involved with us until we find Byakko..."
"Wait, 'until we find Byakko?'"
Lyra tried to interrupt but Solis continued.
"...We also have someone dangerous following us, and most likely, the whole way there will be dangerous..."
"Solis, wait!"
She tried again but failed.
"After we've found Byakko, I'll have to return you to your family."
"SOLIS!"
On her third attempt, Lyra got Solis to stop talking.
"What did you mean by 'until we find Byakko?'"
"It's as I said, once we find him, I'll take you back to your family."
"B-but, Solis, that...I don't want--"
"SOLIS! HE'S FOUND US!" Tenacity shouted.
Solis turned to look and saw the giant figure of Depravity emerge from the mountains.
"Who? Who's 'he?'"
Kalamati took off first and jumped straight off the building, Tenacity followed shortly after, and Solis picked up Lyra as he jumped. Depravity sped up as he caught the scent of his targets nearby. He crashed through the apartment complex, killing many innocent lives, as he chased the Suns. They wove through building after building, at blinding speeds, as Depravity headed straight for them. Solis didn't know what they could do at that point because he couldn't figure out how Depravity kept finding them, it was like the situation with Kalamati when she was used to track them down.
As he ran, that thought crossed his mind and he knew exactly what the other species made up a Drakon. He knew that only beings of the same race could smell one another, and that gave him his answer. He didn't want to believe it, but Depravity was one of them, or at least half of him was, and he revealed this truth to Tenacity and Kalamati.
"I know what they mixed the Drake gene with...it's one with our race. That thing is half of what we are, that's why he can track us."
His companions almost tripped over themselves as they realized what he was saying.
"Take Lyra with you, I'll take him on."
"But you almost didn't come out alive last time!"
"Because I didn't have any intention of winning, Kalamati, but this time, I do."
"Then let me fight instead, Solis!"
"Not you, Tenacity, if he's truly meant to take you down then we can't risk the slim chance of you winning. So, take Lyra and go to Japan."
"I can do it, Solis, I can beat him!"
"This is an order as your First Sun, understood?"
""Yes, Aurelios,"" both of his companions complied, albeit reluctantly.
Solis tossed Lyra to Tenacity and slowed down. His companion's auras faded as they got farther and farther away. He looked up at Depravity and saw him coming ever closer.
Solis bent down slightly and his skin started to crack all over. He let out pained groans as a golden liquid spewed forth from his body and showered the street around him. The liquid was extremely hot as it covered the area in steam and melted whatever it landed on. His body grew in size and extreme changes occurred. His toes melded together and made a three-toed paw, while his legs turned into a digitigrade structure. His weight increased and cracked the ground beneath him, and his new legs made him fall forward onto his arms. His arms then lengthened and matched the size of his hind legs. The fingers on his hands fused together and made three-toed paws as well. Bone-white claws penetrated the ground as they sprung out from his paws.
He began to pack on serious muscle as his body grew until his size rivaled Depravity's. Torn-up wings sprouted from his back and grew to their true size. A tail emerged from his back and scraped against the ground as it lengthened. A snout took the place of his mouth and his eyes lost their irises and became a pure-gold color. They moved to the sides of his head as it took on a reptilian shape. Small, jagged spines appeared in the middle of his snout and ran along the top of his head and halfway down his elongated neck, growing as they descended. Curvy horns grew from his skull and those too grew in length.
The golden liquid began to move as it stuck onto Solis's bare body. They took the form of scales and completely replaced what remaining human skin he had. Their distorted appearance solidified once it was properly on his body. His new body cycled through multiple colors until it landed on white.
Now in the place of the once human Solis, was now a dragon of staggering mass, 60 feet tall in fact. His white scales reflected the light of the sun and his sleek appearance was like that of a polished pearl. His horns and eyes were completely gold, while the arms, wrists, and fingers of his wings were also gold. On his back was where his sun birthmark was on full display.
Depravity flew in, with a smile on his face, as he prepared himself to fight a Sun, the very thing he was born to defeat. With a beat of his own wings, Solis flew at Depravity and the two of them clashed. The shockwave knocked away all the citizens around them and even toppled the surrounding buildings. Depravity noticed the difference in size between them as Solis had 20 feet of height over him. Solis bit into Depravity's neck and managed to pick up his weighty body. With a swing of his neck, he relaxed his jaws and threw Depravity back into the mountains. The mountains broke apart as Depravity tumbled through their peaks and he stopped when he crashed into one. Solis quickly went after his target and flew to where he landed.
Depravity opened his mouth and shot his breath at Solis, but he was prepared. He evaded to the left and shot his own beam. Depravity moved just in time to escape and let the golden ray penetrate the mountain. It was erased completely due to the sheer power of Solis's beam. Next, Depravity did something that Solis wasn't entirely prepared for.
"Drakon Ars 1: Immobilization!"
Solis felt his body seize up, but just for a moment before he could move again. Depravity flew at him and expected to get a clean hit in, but Solis knocked away Depravity's fist and slammed his tail into Depravity's chest. He plummeted back toward the ground, while Solis was left hovering. Depravity's attack was only slightly successful because an Asterian Dragon's scales were resistant to magical attacks. Though this is true, Solis was still caught off-guard by Depravity's usage of magic. Depravity had used magic before but Solis just thought it was a fluke.
From his crater, Depravity expelled another volley of energy from his mouth. The orbs of red flew at Solis with incredible speed and he narrowly dodged a few of them, some managed to graze parts of his body. Solis let out his own beam once again and dragged it across the mountainous landscape. A flurry of explosions followed and demolished the mountainside. Depravity was kept on his toes as he tried to outrun Solis's attacks. Then, Solis let a huge flow of energy into his beam. With the overflow of energy, the beam ballooned and caused a giant explosion. Depravity was thrown off balance and Solis took his chance to swoop in and attack. He battered Depravity with all parts of his body using his claws to scratch, his tail to bludgeon, and his head to ram.
His overwhelming power was something Depravity wasn't fully prepared for and took a beating because of it. He had been told all his life how strong each Sun was, but to actually experience their power first-hand was different. He was being pushed back by a power he couldn't comprehend. In a fit of desperation, he swung wildly and tried to hit Solis, but Solis caught and bit down onto Depravity's wrist and shoved his arm back. While he pinned Depravity up against the mountain, he kept using his tail and hind legs to continuously deal damage. Depravity bit Solis's arm but instantly regretted it as he felt like his teeth were about to shatter. With a giant swing of his tail, Solis hit the side of Depravity's head. He again flew through multiple mountains before he managed to stop.
In between a grove of trees, Depravity lay in defeat. He could taste his blood dripping down from his snout, his right eye was swollen and he couldn't see anything through it, his torso was all torn up with claw marks, and his left arm was fractured in multiple places. Solis's weight shook the ground as he landed near Depravity.
"I was expecting more."
Solis stared into Depravity's yellow irises as he lifted up his hind leg, and stomped down on Depravity's hind leg. Depravity roared in pain as he felt his femur begin to crack. Any more pressure and his femur would be poking through his thigh. Depravity let out a concussive roar that blew Solis away and then he passed out.
"Hmph, such a futile attempt at escape."
Solis's chest expanded as he collected his Asteria. A rumbling noise emitted from his body as the energy began building up. He was ready to erase any proof of Depravity's existence. Just as he opened his mouth, Solis felt a familiar presence and he seized up. His collected Asteria dispersed and he looked around for the owner of the energy signature. He sniffed the air and caught the scent of someone familiar.
Suddenly, a bright, white figure flew in from the mountainous valleys and rammed into Solis. He crashed into the side of a mountain as he was caught by surprise by the mysterious figure. Solis dug his head out from the dirt and looked at who attacked him.
It was a creature of great beauty he had never seen before. They looked like Depravity but with much more class. The creature sported dazzling blue eyes and a pure white body that was similar to Solis's. They were skinnier and shorter than Depravity, like that of a gymnast's body, but you could feel the immense power it held. Their elegant wings flowed in the air as the Drakon used it to hover. Horns protruded from their head and it closely resembled Solis's own horns, which he found odd.
In a feminine voice, she spoke, "It seems you've bested my right-hand man."
Solis was also surprised at the tone and pitch of the creature's voice. Then, he thought, "Ahh, I see, so this is Anacite. Based on the way she carries herself, she must be the leader, and strongest of the Drakons...the one created to rival me."
Solis got back up and looked at the leader of the Drakons.
"Move away or you'll be next," he warned.
"I'd love to, but I can't having you killing off my fellow Sun-Eater."
"'Sun-Eater?'"
Anacite was slightly irked by Solis's comment and accidentally let out some of her killing intent. Solis picked up on her urge for battle and tried to goad her.
"Is that all the ferocity you have in you? You are supposed to be me equal, are you not?"
"No, I am your BETTER," she spoke with confidence, "If I so chose to, I could bury your head into the ground right now."
"Threats have no meaning with no action."
"Your taunts will not work on me, Aurelios. There's a reason the Drakes are the new peacekeepers. As they say, out with the old...in with the new."
That struck a nerve with Solis and he flew at Anacite. She spun around him as tried to tackle her. Then, she took her tail, wrapped it around his neck, and tossed him away.
"I'll be taking my leave."
She easily picked up Depravity's larger and heavier body and flew above the clouds. Solis came out of the mountain and discharged his golden beam. It closed the distance between it and Anacite, but she simply turned to face the beam and used her tail to slice it. The two parts flew into the clouds and caused them to swirl. Anacite let loose a beam as white as her and it hit the ground near Solis. The light of the explosion blinded him and caused him to stumble. He would pursue Anacite, but that meant the potential of running into more enemies. It was never a good idea to take on multiple foes at once because it turns into a battle of attrition, which is an outcome Solis couldn't afford to be in.
He let it rest since he defeated, sadly not killed, Depravity. Suddenly, his scales turned back into the golden liquid and it ran off his body. His wings, tail, and horns shrunk and retreated back into his body. All the while, his hands, and feet returned. His legs became straight again and his arms reduced in length. His head went back to its human appearance along with his eyes. Finally, when all was said and done, the golden liquid stuck onto his body and formed his human skin.
Solis had the urge to get on all fours and begin walking but he knew he shouldn't. Wasting no more time, he ran in the direction Kalamati and Tenacity went. Some of the buildings that were destroyed during his short scuffle in the city caught his attention as he ran through the streets. The innocents that were lost was truly a sad thing but it was a sadness he couldn't express. At the end of the day, Solis didn't know them so he had no reason to be sad. The least he could do though was hope that their souls found a place they could rest easy. Specks that looked like stardust started coming from the dead people. Solis knew what that was and knew that the humans couldn't see it but he felt relieved to see it.
Before he left the area completely, he slipped his consciousness into the grieving people and made them forget his fight, but not their pain. From there, he made his way to the ends of the city, jumped off, and then flew to Japan.
