"So since when could you destroy souls?" Mom asked very sternly.
"Since forever I have demon mana, after all." I said, shrugging, not really caring.
"You do realize you just gave yourself an even bigger target."
"Not really. I only damaged his soul for a bit. They don't know I can outright destroy it, but then again This entire tournament has been boring as hell. Might as well add some spice." I said, annoyed, sitting in my waiting room for my next fight.
"Why did you even make a spell to do something like that, making it look so effortless?"
"What? Seriously, Mom, you don't know why?"
"No, why? Why do you want to do something like that? Destroying hurt souls is bad enough, but destroying them is a no-go. Didn't Kayda tell you about it?"
"To make sure shitheads like my father can't reincarnate ever to stop a disgusting soul like him from just moving on, I want that sort of shit to end."
"…."
"…."
"Sigh, right. Fine, but please don't overuse it."
"Sure, Kayda is there to keep me in check anyways."
"True, she did tell me about it after all."
"So has Zagan talked to Amari yet?"
"No, Zagan hasn't really left his room again since yesterday."
"Ah, I see. I hope the fight wasn't just a fluke."
"I doubt Dean did say he just needed a bit more time to sort out his feelings."
"What a few years of time?"
"I hope not that long. I don't think Amari will wait that long anyways. Most nobles get their fiancées at the academies, and you two are joining it next year, so yeah. If Zagan wants to keep her, he will need to step up his game."
"Right, that was something that was coming."
"Well, your grandmother is the one running the place, so we need to be in there; we can't go to another academy."
"Tsk, it's so going to be a waste of time."
"Well, it's a place where you can level easily." Mom explained.
"Yeah, I can just go into the dead forest and level there."
"No, you can't; you aren't good enough for that place."
"… Right~." I chimed in, rolling my eyes at her.
"Hey, take my warning seriously."
"I am, but not. Anyways, why hasn't the fight started yet?"
"Hmm, good question." Mom said, also realizing that we haven't been told to come.
"They probably forfeited the fight."
"I won't be surprised."
"What, why?"
"You used a gun to blow the last guy's head off. How the hell must they know how to stop something like that?"
"I won't use a gun if they are entertaining enough for me."
"As if someone in this tournament will be entertaining enough for you. Well, maybe the kid that destroyed Zagan."
"I don't think he will be much of a problem."
"You think?"
"Yeah, he just buffs himself. At most, he had a rare class, just a bit of a unique one. And as you guys know, the better class you have, the harder it is to level up. And if he had a unique title like me, it would have been even harder."
"That was a mouthful, but I understand what you mean. But remember."
"Yes, yes, don't underestimate him. Don't worry, I am not that short-sighted." I said, grinning at her.
"Just remember the adult will be there as well."
"Yeah, I know, but if he shows up, I might need to get involved. I am, after all, also a sin."
"… You think he will be here." Mom asked in a very serious voice.
"No, but there is always a chance for it."
"Now ladies and gentlemen, sorry for the delay. The two contestants are ready to start!!"
"What the hell is going on?"
"Hmm, you're fighting quite the bog angel, so I didn't really think he would stay, as you are an agility fighter while this guy is well. Very slow." Mom said, making me raise an eyebrow at her.
"And you are telling me this only now?"
"Yeah, I mean, I seriously thought they would pull the guy out of the tournament."
"Well, whatever, I've got to go." I said, jumping up before walking out of the room, leaving Mom behind.
'This is going to end fast, so you should join Amari after this; her fight should be later today.' I thought, while shaking my head at the idea of doing 16 manches in one day. It is quite a lot for one team of commentators.
"Ah, you finally arrived. I thought you forfeited." The angel said the moment I stepped onto the arena, and Mom was right, this guy was a giant.
Just under 4 meters tall, broad shoulders to fit with his height, and his legs, well, are as big as me.
"Shit, dude, what did you eat growing up like that?" I said, looking him up and down.
"??"
"Guess there's not something to help with your brain." I chuckled seeing him look down at me in confusion.
"What did you just say?!" He yelled, sendinghis fist down at me.
"Woah, woah, we haven't started yet." I said, stepping to the left, dodging both his hands with ease.
"Who cares about that? Demons must die!"
"How aggressive." I said, grinning at him, catching his fist.
"Woah, you seriously have a punch behind you." I added encasing my hands with ice gauntlets.
"Heh, you want to have a strength contest? Laughable! No one is stronger than me!" He yelled, slamming his fist at me again.
Instead of catching them, I jumped on top of the before jumping again at his head, wanting to knee him.
"Surprisingly, you can dodge quite quickly." I said, surprised, seeing him a few feet away with his wings flapping.
"Did you think I am that slow?"
"Oh no, you are slow." I said, taking one step forward before disappearing and reappearing on his side, bringing my right hand down on the side of his knee. "
"Augh!"
Following up the punch with a left swing, I bent his knee backwards, hearing a clear pop of his now dislocated knee.
"Aaaaah!!!"
"Oh, that got to hurt; you should get a doctor to look at that." I said, grinning at him from a few feet away again while pointing at his lower leg.
"You bitch!" He cursed, spitting at me.
"Haha, you said demons must die, right? Well, I guess for us, "demon" angels must die, no? I said, walking closer to him.
"Fuck you!" The guy yelled, flapping his wings to take flight."
"Oh no, no, you can't just decide to take their air." I said, appearing behind him, grabbing one of his wings, and swinging him around, sending him into the ground face first.
"Dropping down to the arena floor, he jumped onto his back this time, grabbing both wings."
"You know what the funniest thing is? This isn't the first time I am pulling an angel's wings off." I laughed, giving the wings one good tug, tearing the thing off clean.
"Aaahhh!!!!!" Shouting in pain, the guy fainted.
"Woah, no, you can't be doing that." I said, making a small ice water ball above his head and dropping it on him.
"Ah! What?" The guy muttered in confusion.
"Woah, did he forget what happened?" I thought, bewildered.
"Ding sing and the winner is Kitsune Draig." The announcer told us all of a sudden.
"What! I did not surrender!" The guy under me yelled, jumping up, making me back away from him.
"Well, sorry, my guy, but you lost. Bang!!" I said as he turned around, I shot his head off just like I did the other day.
"I mean, seriously, do you guys really think you can block one of my shots with some holy magic?. Pah, I am a demon. You guys don't stand a chance." I said, laughing at the body on the ground.
