Supergirl:
"Spectre," Oliver yells, running before stopping, his feet sliding along the wet floor.
The pale man in the green hood and cape turns to look at Oliver. Oliver, smiling, raises his bow.
"Head-up."
Pulling back the bowstring, Oliver fires one of his trick arrows. However, the pale man, Spectre, raises one of his hands. Glowing green, the same green glow appears around Oliver's arrow. Spectre flicks his hand, and the arrow jumps to the side. It drops into the water before exploding. Water shoots into the air and rains down. Pulling back his hand, Spectre then pushes his glowing hand forward. I think, using something like telekinesis, Spectre throws Oliver into the air, knocking him back.
"Hey," Harleen yells, raising her dual pistols. "Down here, you, very pale, in desperate need of tanning, bastard!"
With Slade and Jason Todd by her sides, the three of them fire at Spectre, but like before, he raises his glowing hand. Capturing all the bullets, freezing them in mid-air, Spectre closes his hand. The bullets hovering in mid-air gather together. They crush and twist, turning into one shiny, copper orb. Dropping the orb, it hits the floor, creating cracks in the ground as it lands.
"This does not concern any of you. I only seek the man in the sunglasses."
"He's busy," Firestorm shouts. Flying into the air, dual trails of orange flame shooting from his hands, Firestorm flies up to Spectre. Putting his hands together, Firestorm forms a massive, swirling fireball. Throwing it at Spectre, Spectre waves his hand. The fireball transforms. It turns into a puff of white smoke. It hits Spectre. He remains unfazed, only watching as his cloak swings in the smoke.
"Enough," Spectre shouts. Raising both his hands into the air, he not only grabs Firestorm, but also Harleen, Slade, Jason Todd, and the rest of us. The eerie green glow encases all of us before we're all pulled into the air. I try to break free, but I can't even move my arms.
"I am here today to judge the man in the sunglasses," Spectre says, his almost dead voice sending shivers down my back. "The man killed Phantom Stranger. He must pay the price."
"Phantom Stranger helped unleash Trigon," Leonard growls. "That son of a bit--"
Before he can finish, Spectre rockets to Leonard and grabs his throat.
"Leonard Snart of Central City," Spectre starts. "Do not think I have forgotten your crimes."
"Hey," Pamela yells, "Leave him alone! You want a fight, fight me! I've done a lot of crimes too, and I don't regret any of them!"
Pamela's arms begin to shake, but she can't break through Spectre's grip.
"Ahhhh," Pamela screams.
"Pamela," I yell. Looking at Spectre, I prepare to use my heat vision. My eyes turn red, energy gathering in them. I'm about to shoot, but before I can, something flies through the air. It hits Spectre, impaling him.
Spectre screams. He loses his focus. The green glow around all of us disappears, and we all drop to the floor.
"What the--"
Looking back up, I see Aquaman's trident in Spectre's back. Looking down now, I see Aquaman standing. Despite standing, Aquaman is still shaking. His skin is still covered in white blisters and patches of dry, red rashes. Black and green glowing veins keep moving up and down his body. A few seconds later, Aquaman coughs, and some black blood flies out of his mouth. A few more seconds later, he drops to one of his knees.
Grabbing and pulling Aquaman's trident out of his back, Spectre looks at Aquaman. He shoots down like a meteor and grabs Aquaman by his throat. Lifting Aquaman into the air, his feet dangling, Spectre looks at Aquaman.
"Aquaman," Spectre says, "You killed Gorilla Grodd. Your crime has gone unanswered for many months now."
Aquaman grabs Spectre's wrist, but he couldn't break Spectre's grip.
"Your sentence is death," Spectre says. "The virus in your body will kill you in--"
"Hey," someone yells. All of us freeze and look to the side. There, standing with a small scalpel in her hand, is Iris. "Let him go!"
Spectre looks at Iris. Dr. Crane grabs and pushes Iris behind him. He raises his hands and braces himself.
"Dr. Jonathan Crane," Spectre moans. "You may have changed your name, but you cannot change your crimes. Scarecrow."
Spectre raises his other hand.
"Noo!"
Using my heat vision, I fire dual laser beams from my eyes. They hit Spectre. Letting go of Aquaman, Spectre is thrown into the air. About to hit the glass wall, Spectre somehow goes right through me. Passing through the glass unharmed, Spectre floats in the cold ocean water. I stop shooting before I can accidentally hit the glass wall.
"Dr. Crane," I shout, "Check on Aquaman! I'm going after Spectre."
Running toward the edge of the dock, I hold my breath and dive into the water.
Gentleman Ghost:
Watching from the side as everyone focuses on Supergirl diving into the water to chase Spectre, I run behind them, toward the giant submarine. With my ghostly power, I jump off the ledge and phase through the wall, entering the submarine.
Laughing as I land inside, I look around this massive metal behemoth.
"Incredible," I say as I walk through the metal hallway. "Such a shame I have to kill this man. This marvelous vehicle. It must have been quite expensive to build. Once I kill him, I will take it and sell it."
I adjust my top hat as I walk further down the hallway.
Deadman:
As I keep watching The Man shake bottles with different ingredients, seeing how they react with the orichalcum, and then writing it down, he stops suddenly. I think he was making progress. He finally found one ingredient that didn't react violently with the orichalcum, but as he was writing it down, he freezes.
"What is it?" I ask.
"We're not alone," The Man answers.
"What?"
"Someone else is here. Not someone on the team, but an intruder. An uninvited guest. I hate uninvited guests."
Putting down the pencil, The Man heads toward the door, but I stop him.
"Whoever it is," I say, "Leave them to me. You need to find a cure for Aquaman and the Atlanteans."
I walk through the door, phasing through it, and entering the hallway. I barely take three steps from the door when I come face-to-face with Gentleman Ghost.
"You," I shout, raising my fists.
"You," Gentleman Ghost also screams. Reaching down, he swings his hand out and pulls out his sword. "Do not think I have forgiven the humiliating thrashing you gave me. You and I have a score to settle."
Rushing toward me, I run toward Gentleman Ghost. As we charge toward each other, Gentleman Ghost swings his sword, but I jump and run, sliding along the metal floor. Ducking underneath the swing, I kick Gentleman Ghost in the stomach, knocking him through a wall. Stopping and pushing myself up, I chase after Gentleman Ghost, also phasing through the wall.
The Man:
Pouring water from the Himalayan mountains into the glass bottle with the orichalcum, I watch as the water boils, but doesn't explode, burst, or smoke. It boils, and that's it.
Combining the boiling water with lilypad petals and possums' nosehairs, I keep watching as the bubbling stops. The glow on the orichalcum begins fading.
"Yes, yes, yes!"
Pumping a fist in the air, I hear a loud crashing sound, mixed with the noise of heavy metal banging against each other. Judging from the noise, I believe Deadman and the uninvited guest are fighting in the kitchen.
Imagining the mess I would have to clean up, I put down the bottle with nosehair, grab the radio's volume knob, and turn it up.
