Cedric opened his eyes in the middle of the night, gasping.
PING!
A sharp metallic sound echoed inside his skull.
Blue text appeared in front of him—floating, glowing, undeniable.
[ SYSTEM BOOTING … ]
[ USER DETECTED: CEDRIC AARON FERALDO ]
[ PHYSICAL VESSEL: DEFECTIVE ]
[ ADAPTATION PROTOCOL INITIATED ]
Cedric froze.
"W-What is this…?"
Another notification flashed:
[ YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS THE VESSEL OF THE ANCIENT GOD — *ARHENOS, THE PRIME DESTROYER* ]
[ COMPATIBILITY: 0.01% ]
[ WARNING: HOST BODY TOO WEAK. COMMENCING RECONSTRUCTION. ]
His bones burned.
His muscles twisted.
His blood felt like fire rushing through dying veins.
Cedric screamed—but no sound left his throat.
Then everything turned pitch-black.

When he opened his eyes again… he felt nothing.
No pain.
No weakness.
No trembling legs.
Cedric stood up—and his body obeyed him flawlessly.
He stared at his hands.
For the first time in his life, they didn't shake.
Another notification appeared:

[ DEFECT REMOVED ]
[ GODSLAYER SYSTEM ACTIVATED ]
His heart pounded.
"System… what do you want from me?"
The answer appeared instantly:
[ TASK 1: SURVIVE ]
[ TASK 2: GROW ]
[ TASK 3: ASCEND ]
Before he could speak again, the walls of his room shuddered—
then split open, revealing a swirling black portal.
A dungeon.
A rift.
The first one of its kind.
[ QUEST: ENTER THE FIRST GATE ]
Reward: ???
Penalty for Failure: DEATH
Cedric stared into the darkness.
All his life, the world treated him as useless.
But now, the system was giving him a chance—
Not just to walk or fight…
but to become something more.
A hunter.
A godslayer.
A legend.
Cedric clenched his fist and stepped toward the portal.
"Fine. If fate chose me… then I'll fight for it."
The darkness swallowed him whole—
and the era of the weakest boy becoming the strongest hunter began.
