CHAPTER 6 — THE CHOICE OF A GODSLAYER
Guns aimed at Cedric.
Armored hunters surrounded him, forming a ring of black steel and glowing runes.
The captain shouted again:
"Identify yourself! What is your connection to the Tondo Gate!?"
Cedric glanced at the system menu floating in his vision.
[ QUEST: REVEAL OR HIDE YOUR POWER? ]
Option 1: Reveal — Path of the Public Hunter
Option 2: Hide — Path of the Shadow Godslayer
He took a breath.
"I'll cooperate," Cedric said calmly.
Holstering their weapons, the hunters looked relieved.
But the captain frowned.
"You came out of the Gate alive. Alone. That's impossible for civilians."
Cedric didn't answer.
The captain signaled an officer.
"Cuff him. Bring him to HQ."
Cedric held up one hand.
The officer froze mid-step, a chill passing through him.
Cedric didn't even summon power — it was simply instinct.
The captain's eyes widened.
"You— You're not human-level anymore, are you?"
Cedric met his gaze.
"No. I'm something else."
Silence.
Then the captain nodded stiffly.
"Fine. No cuffs. But you're coming with us."
Cedric sighed in relief.
The system chimed:
[ CHOICE REGISTERED: PATH OF THE PUBLIC HUNTER ]
[ HUNTER LICENSE QUESTLINE UNLOCKED ]
He stepped into the armored vehicle.
The world was about to learn the name:
Cedric Aaron Feraldo — The Reconstructed Godslayer.
