CHAPTER 8 — FIRST RAID TEAM, FIRST BOSS
Despite being Rank X, Cedric was still required to join supervised raids.
His first assignment:
Rizal Gate — LV. 10 Dungeon
A raid team of 12 awaited him.
A tall hunter walked up — muscular, arrogant grin.
"I'm Renz Galvez, Team Leader. Don't slow us down, newbie."
Cedric smiled politely.
"Sure."
The team entered the dungeon.
Inside was a forest of blue trees, glowing leaves, and drifting mana particles.
Monsters jumped from the shadows.
Renz charged in.
"Crush them!"
But a beast 3 meters tall pounced at his back.
Cedric moved — instinctively.
Pulse Step.
He appeared in front of Renz.
One punch.
BOOM.
The monster's torso exploded into mist.
The whole raid team froze.
Renz's voice trembled:
"…W-what… was that?"
Cedric shrugged.
"Just a punch."
The system whispered:
[ GODBREAKER STRIKE — EXP LEVEL UP! ]
[ LV. 1 → LV. 2 ]
The team continued deeper.
At the center of the dungeon stood the Boss:
LV. 15 — Forest Tyrant Gravas
A towering gorilla covered in armor-like bark, roaring with murderous wrath.
Renz lifted his spear.
"Everyone—prepare for a long fight!"
Cedric walked past him.
"No need."
Cedric stepped forward.
His eyes glowed faintly—blue and gold.
Gravas slammed its fist.
Cedric caught it with one hand.
The ground cracked.
Hunters turned pale.
Then Cedric unleashed:
GODBREAKER STRIKE.
His fist hit Gravas square in the chest.
A shockwave tore through the entire forest.
The boss disintegrated into particles of light.
Silence.
Then:
"…Holy… shit…"
Renz dropped his spear, stunned.
The system chimed:
[ FIRST BOSS DEFEATED ]
[ LEVEL UP! ]
[ LEVEL UP! ]
[ LEVEL UP! ]
