_____________
Shizune gave her a soft smile, before nodding to the fish flopping around on the table, "That," she said, "You finished the quickest by far. Your Mystical Palm Jutsu is quite refined." she said.
…Was it?
She walked around her, before picking up the fish, uncaring of its slimy body and flailing, and making her way over to the tank they were generally kept within and depositing it.
Before turning back to Sakura, "How long have you been practicing it?" Shizune asked, though as she did, the pink haired girl noted her dark eyes drifting up to her forehead and lingering for a moment.
"A few weeks," Sakura replied, "Three now, I think actually." she added. Was it really that impressive? For sure, it was probably the jutsu she had used more in her life now, besides the Force Palm Jutsu and the Shockwave Fist Jutsu she'd gotten from Daiki. She'd been using it multiple times a day after all at Daiki's suggestion, using it to heal herself while training.
She used it dozens of times a day. So, it had become almost second nature to her really. But, she didn't think it was all that impressive.
It was nothing compared to some of the stuff Daiki could do.
Shizune's eyebrows rose, "Only three?" she repeated, before shaking her head, "You must really have an aptitude for medical ninjutsu. I've met some medic nin refining theirs for five years that don't compare to yours."
Huh.
Really? Again, she didn't think she was all that impressive with it. But then, Daiki had said as much before hadn't he? He'd outright been the one to suggest she learned it, and thought she'd be really good at it.
And now Shizune was confirming it after seeing her use the Mystical Palm Jutsu? The apprentice of Tsunade herself? 'How did Daiki know?' she couldn't help but think.
That doujutsu of his maybe?
Shizune reached into her kimono, and pulled out a clipboard a second later. She hummed, as she flipped through pages on it, before pausing at one, eyes roaming over it as she read it, and her eyebrows climbed high into her hairline once more, "Your theory test results are astounding as well," she mused, "A bit lacking in detail in some answers maybe that would be covered with experience, but beyond that, not a single wrong question at all."
Ah right. The first test she'd had to take earlier. It was apparently the standard test one had to pass before they could even be considered for becoming a medical ninja. It was honestly a pretty simple test, she'd picked up all the information she'd needed to pass during the emergency aid classes back in the academy.
And the book and scroll she'd gotten when she came to learn the Mystical Palm Jutsu weeks ago, had everything else she needed to know.
It was much simpler honestly, than the questions on the test she'd been given for the first round of the Chuunin Exams.
"Ah, yeah I've always been good at theory work and tests at least." Sakura replied, running a hand through the back of her hair.
She still wasn't quite used to how short it was. But, she kind of liked it. Though, Daiki said he liked her long her as well didn't he?
Shizune looked up from the clipboard and smiled warmly at her, "Well, I think it's safe to say you pass. Tsunade-sama will be interested in meeting you I think," she said, her eyes drifting up once again to Sakura's forehead, and she pursed her lips, "Though, may I ask where you got that mark on your forehead from?"
Speaking of Daiki.
And it was then Sakura noticed something. The distinct lack of the same marking on Shizune's forehead, despite her being Tsunade's apprentice.
"Daiki- I mean, Hokage-sama gave it to me." Sakura replied honestly, resisting the urge to grimace. It must have been quite insulting for Shizune, now that she thought about it. Meeting a random girl who was given one of her masters vaunted techniques, while she herself had never gotten it. But…why? She had to wonder.
"I see…" Shizune trailed, and looked away, "How did he even learn it? She couldn't have taught it to him…not with what they were…" she muttered quietly, cheeks flushing.
Sakura blinked.
Huh?
Not with what they were what? What the heck had Daiki done to Tsunade-sama?
Then she remembered how outrageously busty Tsunade-sama was. And it clicked, 'He probably made a ton of pervy comments to her and caused a bunch of havoc.'
No way someone like Tsunade-sama would let him get away with his pervy comments with how strong she was. She wasn't some genin like Sakura.
Shizune shook her head, "Well, it doesn't matter I suppose," she sighed, "Tsunade-sama won't say a thing if Daiki-sama was the one who gifted it to you."
"She…won't?" Sakura blinked, and she couldn't stop herself from glancing at Shizune's bare forehead, "But…you don't even-"
Shizune chuckled, "I don't have the Strength Of A Hundred Seal?" she finished for her, before closing her eyes. A moment later, a familiar blue rhombus shape appeared on her forehead, "Not quite right I'm afraid Sakura-chan. I do have it, I learned everything Tsunade-sama had to teach. It's just that, I rarely use it, or the other main techniques Tsunade-sama uses herself, because they simply don't suit me." as she finished, the seal on her forehead faded away again, hidden.
"…Oh…"
"Anyway," Shizune pat her on the shoulder and gave her a genial smile, "I've seen all I needed to see from you. And I'll definitely be bringing you up with Tsunade-sama. But for now, you can head home if you want."
Oh thank god.
She bowed her head slightly, "I'll do that then, Shizune-san. It was nice meeting you." the pink haired girl replied.
She smiled back, "You too Sakura-chan. Hopefully, I'll be seeing you soon." she replied.
'Definitely.' Sakura thought, making her way out of the spherical room where the test was taking place.
She sighed in relief as the door closed behind her. Leaning against it for a moment, languishing in the cool metal door.
Before pushing herself up off of it and making her way down the winding, sterile halls of the hospital.
She wound around one of the corners, down a large hallway, finding two kids a few years younger than her, around the same age as those brats that followed Naruto around all the time and called him boss.
"You know, I heard when the Hokage was born the Tsuchikage was so scared of his potential he bribed that traitor Orochimaru to send his most venomous summon to assassinate him," one of the kids was saying, making her stare at him in disbelief. What? "And then when the that snake bit the baby Hokage, after three days of excruciating pain, the snake died."
'Excuse me!?' Sakura almost spluttered, 'Daiki didn't even meet Orochimaru until the forest of death. And why would the Tsuchikage even know of him as a baby?'
"That sounds about right," the other kid grinned and laughed, "I heard the Raikage dreamed he fought our Hokage, and then woke up with two black eyes!"
"Hah, even in his dreams that useless cloud monkey couldn't defeat the Hokage! He's invincible!" the first kid outright sniggered gleefully, "You know, I heard that once the Hokage stared at the sun. And after a few seconds, the sun blinked and that's why we have solar eclipses sometimes."
'That…that doesn't even make sense!' Sakura outright gaped, coming to a halt and just staring in disbelief at the kids backs as they continued walking away, talking about 'facts' they'd heard about of the 'Legendary Godaime Hokage' all the while.
