The fragmented residents gather in a corner of the square, praying for the coming dawn.
Lu Li and Mother of the Marsh, headed to Agate Lake, arrive beside them.
"What are you doing?"
They answer, "Lady Claire taught us to be grateful for the offering of food. The Night of Terror grants us bravery, and we sincerely appreciate its contributions."
"Be careful not to develop faith."
"We will be cautious, dear Mother of the Marsh."
The residents respectfully reply. They are either about to die or go mad, cultivated as potential believers to be converted into followers when pollution and mutation become irreversible.
Aside from the ridiculous reasons, the Night of Terror indeed brings things that Lu Li and Land of Light could never provide and do not truly exist—confidence.
