He was clearly threatening her, using her cousin's pregnancy to do so, yet he managed to make it seem so heartfelt, so intimate.
Tessa struggled with her expression, unable to give an answer, just glaring at him. Faye didn't force her, turning to leave, but she grabbed him.
She was both coquettish and angry: "How can you do this? I don't care, you can't tell Xavier Warren, absolutely can't tell him."
"I lost my wife, I should at least let others catch a wife."
"If you want a wife, I can find one for you." Tessa whispered through gritted teeth.
"You're going to find one for me?" Faye wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her against him: "You don't need to look far, because it's you."
Tessa felt the hand on her waist stirring, and she pinched it, "Let go of me first."
And surprisingly, he did let go this time, turning to leave so quickly she couldn't react. By the time she did, he was already at the door.
