After spending a night with Tessa lying on him, Faye's leg wouldn't budge; it was now so numb it felt stiff as a rock, refusing to move, needing a little rest.
Tessa blinked, a moment's daze before she realized, "Your leg is numb, huh."
"It's just numb, why are you making it sound so cryptic? You're not embarrassed, are you? Having a numb leg isn't shameful." Tessa came over, sat down again, and put her small hands on his leg, helping him massage it: "You're really something...just a little kneading will do."
She massaged really well, and soon his leg recovered, yet he still didn't want to move.
Suddenly, Tessa said, "Thanks."
"Hmm?"
"For my mom's matter."
"Who am I to you that you still need to thank me?"
Faye's hand pressed on her back, pushing her body forward to lean into his arms, "I really hate it when you say 'thank you' to me, and also..."
He couldn't say the word "don't" before his eyes lowered and he kissed her.
