At noon, I met Chong Ming. He looked fine, just like usual.
But compared to him, Xu Anran didn't look as good. Maybe it was because she didn't sleep well last night; she seemed very tired.
"You don't look well. Did something happen?"
"No," Xu Anran shook her head and then forced a smile, explaining, "Maybe I've been a bit busy these past few days, so the pressure's a bit more."
"You need to take care of your health; nothing is more important than that," Chong Ming couldn't help but remind her, then added, "I thought you might be troubled because of our situation."
Xu Anran pressed her lips together, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I have been thinking about our situation. Chong Ming, I've thought it over; the two of us… it's better if we end it."
It seemed that Chong Ming wasn't surprised by this outcome. When Xu Anran said it, he didn't seem surprised at all.
