"Where's the medicine?"
Bai Zhi pointed towards the dining table, looking quite mournful.
Duan Xingzhi stood up, holding a teacup in one hand and pulling her along with the other, heading toward the dining table.
"Sit down."
Duan Xingzhi sat across from her, smiling as he watched her, and said, "I'll watch you drink it."
"Why are you doing this? Are you afraid I won't take it?"
"Yes, you might just flush it down the toilet as soon as I turn my back." After saying that, he took a sip of tea and continued, "I've seen how you take medicine before."
Bai Zhi felt quite embarrassed by his teasing, and she looked at the medicine bowl, then took a deep breath and drank with her eyes closed.
She initially planned to pinch her nose and chug it down all at once, but once the medicine touched her mouth, she couldn't swallow. Even that one sip was painfully forced down. After putting the bowl down, she hurried to the living room, grabbed a small persimmon, and started eating.
