Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The evening sun dipped below the horizon, casting long, amber shadows across the bustling streets of the Hidden Leaf Village. While the village at large was still heavily focused on reconstruction following the devastating Nine-Tails attack, one estate stood pristine and quiet on the outskirts of the residential district: the Nakamura Mansion.

Inside, the grand estate was alive with a quiet, orderly energy. Servants moved swiftly through the corridors, preparing the evening supper, the rich aroma of savory broth and roasted meats drifting through the halls.

Deep within the master bedroom, far removed from the ambient noise of the household, a young boy sat cross-legged atop a silk cushion. He possessed remarkably cute, soft features and short, pitch-black hair. His hands were resting on his knees, palms up, curled into an ancient meditative mudra.

His breathing was so slow, so perfectly rhythmic, that he barely seemed to disturb the air around him.

Tap, tap.

A gentle knock echoed at the door, followed by a soft, polite voice. "Young Master Shi, your supper is ready."

The boy's eyelids fluttered, slowly opening to reveal depth and clarity unbefitting a child. He nodded toward the door. "Understood. Leave it in the dining hall, I will be down shortly."

"Yes, Young Master Shi," the maid replied before her footsteps faded down the corridor.

When he had first taken over this body, he had strictly forbidden the staff from addressing him with high-status titles like Shi-sama or Yan-sama. Instead, he instructed them to simply call him Young Master Shi.

In just three short months, he had become quite famous throughout Konoha, largely due to what the locals perceived as his eccentric "quirkiness." He didn't play with the other children, he rarely left his estate, and he carried himself with the poise of an old soul.

More importantly, he had suddenly become the village's youngest, wealthy orphan. Because his late father had secured a secret, binding diplomatic agreement with the Third Hokage prior to the attack, Hiruzen Sarutobi kept a personal eye on the Nakamura estate.

The Hokage's backing ensured that greedy civilian merchants and opportunistic ninja clans stayed far away from the boy's massive inheritance.

Left completely to his own devices, Shi Yan had spent the last ninety days doing one thing: digesting the massive, sprawling sea of knowledge locked away in his subconscious.

As he stood up to stretch his young limbs, Shi Yan contemplated his bizarre reality. Initially, when he realized he had been reborn into the Naruto world, he felt a sting of despair. Hiroshi's body had been thoroughly examined by the medical ninja; it possessed an entirely standard, average physical build with absolutely zero talent for refining chakra. In a world where shinobi ruled the battlefield, being a chakra-less noble was a death sentence.

But everything changed when he tapped into the fragmented memories of the nameless, fallen Immortal Cultivator.

Shi Yan discovered a miraculous anomaly. Because his Earth soul had merged with a soul of utmost purity during transmigration, his spiritual essence had undergone a profound mutation. In this universe, natural energy and spiritual energy manifested as chakra. To a normal ninja, chakra had to be squeezed from the physical and mental cells. But to Shi Yan?

He could cultivate chakra itself as if it were pure Heaven and Earth Lingqi.

This was a paradigm shift. He didn't need a conventional chakra pathway system to cast ninjutsu; he could absorb the raw energy of the world directly into his meridians, storing it in his Dantian.

Among the hundreds of fragmented cultivation techniques swimming in his mind, his gaze had locked onto a legendary manual: The Four Auspicious Beasts Technique.

This supreme technique was divided into four foundational elemental branches, each representing a primordial guardian entity:

The Azure Dragon of the East: Grants absolute mastery over the purest form of Wind.

The Vermilion Bird of the South: Grants absolute mastery over the purest form of Fire.

The White Tiger of the West: Grants absolute mastery over the purest form of Earth.

The Black Tortoise of the North: Grants absolute mastery over the purest form of Water.

According to the ancient memories, if a cultivator achieved perfect control and synthesized these four elements in the higher realms, they could effortlessly manifest advanced variations like Wood, Metal, Shadow, Light, and even space-time anomalies.

Clenching his small fists, a fiery glint ignited within Shi Yan's eyes.

"Right now, I haven't even taken the first official step on the Path of Cultivation," he whispered to the empty room. "Tonight... I will begin my journey."

Late that night, while the entire Hidden Leaf Village slept under a blanket of stars, Shi Yan sat cross-legged once more. The room was dimly lit, illuminated only by the faint glow of the moon filtering through the window.

Closing his eyes, he triggered the internal chants of the Four Auspicious Beasts Technique.

Instantly, the atmosphere inside the room turned incredibly heavy. Outside his window, a blinding, ethereal light began to emanate from his body, pulsing with cosmic colors yet, due to the unique nature of cosmic energy, it remained completely invisible and undetected by any sensory ninja or barrier seals in the village.

Inside his body, a chaotic storm had begun.

Shi Yan gasped as an intense, burning sensation violently tore through his dormant meridians. The foreign, raw energy of the world was forcing its way into his flesh. It felt like thick, boiling mud, moving through his veins as if it were stuck in a dense, suffocating swamp. The pain was agonizing, threatening to tear his young consciousness to pieces.

'Hold on... I must endure!' he roared internally, gritting his teeth until they bled.

Suddenly, just as his willpower was about to fracture, an explosive cascade of sound shattered the silence of his mind. It wasn't a physical noise, but a spiritual resonance that echoed through his soul:

From the boundless East, a majestic Dragon shouted, its voice carrying the fury of a thousand hurricanes.

From the scorching South, a divine Phoenix cried, its piercing melody bringing the heat of a dying star.

From the rugged West, a ferocious Tiger roared, making the very foundations of his spirit tremble.

And from the abyssal North, an ancient Turtle snickered, its low, rumbling chuckle carrying the absolute weight of the deep ocean.

The four phantom echoes crashed together inside his Dantian. Instantly, an aura entirely unique to Shi Yan—vast, ancient, and completely alien to the Elemental Nations surged outward from his core.

The agonizing, burning pain vanished in a fraction of a second. In its place, a beautifully cool, soothing current washed over his newly opened meridians, repairing the damage and leaving his body feeling lighter than air.

Shi Yan abruptly snapped his eyes open. A brilliant flash of spiritual light flickered in his pupils before fading back into the darkness. A triumphant smile spread across his face.

"Finally... I succeeded. I can officially be called a cultivator now."

At that very moment, history had been made. Shi Yan had broken through the barrier from a weak, fragile mortal boy to a true cultivator. Though this first step was incredibly small perhaps even negligible compared to the god-like entities of this world, no one could deny his unprecedented accomplishment. He was the one and only cultivator in the entire world.

Suddenly, a terrible, pungent odor hit his nostrils. Shi Yan blinked and looked down at his arms and chest. A thick, black, sticky substance had been expelled through his pores, covering his skin in a foul-smelling layer of biological impurities.

"I have officially entered the First Realm of Body Transformation," Shi Yan smiled, completely ignoring the stench. His skin felt tighter, his muscles more dense, and his senses sharper than ever before.

He walked over to the window, gazing out over the dark silhouette of Konoha.

By his calculations, there were still exactly 12 years left before the official canon timeline of the Naruto story began. Twelve years until the catastrophic chuunin exams, the Akatsuki movements, and the Fourth Shinobi World War.

"In this time, I must gain enough strength to protect myself from the upcoming storms," he mused quietly.

He knew better than anyone that the Naruto universe was beautiful but inherently cruel. Human lives were reaped without remorse, leaving behind no justice, only immense pain in the hearts of loved ones and tears in their eyes.

Shi Yan's smile turned slightly bittersweet as he looked up at the moon. "But do I even have someone to cry for me?" he thought, a fleeting sense of loneliness washing over him. He was a stranger in a strange world, carrying the legacy of a dead god and a forgotten cultivator.

Shaking his head to clear the melancholy, his expression hardened with renewed resolve. He had a vast path of ascension ahead of him.

"Once I reach a level of power sufficient to truly protect myself, I will venture out and see what this world has to offer."
