The half of the dumpling caught between the chopsticks had a coin nestled in the filling.

Only the edge of the silver coin peeked out, hidden within the filling, not something you'd see without looking closely.
The old man exclaimed, "Oh!" and told Xiao Mo, "I just got poked by a coin; you have to be careful when you eat, Xiao Mo. Take small bites, or you'll accidentally bite onto a coin. If you chip your little tooth, it won't be good."
Xiao Mo nodded seriously, "I will be careful."
