Ren was sleeping on his bed relaxedly , it seemed as though he just came back from a war . After a while of quiet he finally woke up .
After waking up his memories seemed to be jogged up , he tried to recall what happened before he fell unconscious last time . He pondered on this for a while and then suddenly whispered , [wolf king] , he had finally recalled what happened before he fell unconscious .
It was the fight against the wolf king . When the wolf king was about to finish the black wolf, Ren swooped in at the last moment with some unknown power and beheaded the wolf king .
[was that magic ? ] thought Ren , " yes it is " said the black wolf , " wait , where are you , are you still alive ? " , asked Ren in a worried manner , " worry not , I'm fine " said the wolf , " yeah , but where are you ? " , " basically speaking , I'm inside you " , said the wolf .
" What ? , how is that possible , explain please" . said Ren . " well it's actually like this".
The wolf explained to Ren that when they formed a soul pact , a special magic container was formed inside Ren where he could store and summon all the monsters he formed soul pacts with .
" so that's how it is " said Ren. " Yes " said the wolf . " alright , explain to me about what happened after I fell unconscious and how It happened .
The wolf explained to him about everything that had transpired . when Ren and the black wolf formed a contract than Rens and the wolfs strength would have to be. balanced , so the wolf's strength started to rapidly increase , which lead to the wolf becoming stronger in physique , while Ren reached the major accomplishment stage , but then due to the wolf reaching it's limit and breaking it's bottleneck , an evolution was triggered , and when the wolfs evolution was triggered then Ren naturally evolved as well to keep the power balance .
And that's how he is now able to use magic . He also fell unconscious because because he overexerted himself due to combat qi and magic usage . Then they decided that starting the next day , they would start practicing magic .

A few months later .
Ren was now thirteen years old . A few months had passed of magic training and Ren had gained a good control of magic .
There were many different types of magics , the most common being , fire , water , wind and earth . And there were different types , but those were rare .
To use magic , one needed to manipulate mana to cast magic . Ones body can store a certain amount of mana , with some without talent having low amounts while others have high amounts of mana stored in their body .
But the mana capacity wasn't the only factor , mana is the energy used to conjure and control magic , but there was also mana control .
In many fights it could be that the person with the concentration of mana loses to the one with lower concentration because their control was worse than the other party's .
There was also the magic type . some types of magics had distinct advantages over certain types of magic . such as fire and water , water users have advantages against fire mages .
To cast magic , one would need to us chants .
After chanting they release their spells .
As one got more and more profecient with using a spell , the shorter their casting time would be and at some point they'd be able to use that spell without chanting .
There was also another method of casting magic . Those are magic circles . They are simply lines and symbols that connect to each other and form circle like formations .
The stronger the spell , the more difficult the magic circle , Some say chanting is faster while some say magic circles are faster . Either way , it all depends on preference.
Rens magic type was lightning , which is considered to be one of the rarest and strongest .
The black wolf had become quite profecient in lightning magic as well and Ren also named it Bolt . Because it could make bolts of lightning to attack . And it was also crowned , wolf king .
The color of Bolts lightning was dark purple while Rens was dark blue .
This was the way mages normally use their magic , they learn this from magic academies , but Ren hadn't gone to a magic academy so he was self thought and learned on his own . While training Ren found out that to cast spells , one would first need to circulate their mana to where they want to release their spell from and then imagine the effect he wanted and the spell would be formed and be on standby until he chose to use it .
As easy as this sounded , it was actually quite difficult as most mages couldn't do this , which was why chants and magic circles were invented , so that the mana circulation will happen automatically . manipulating mana on your own is like using you're right hand to draw shapes while simultaneously using his or her left hand to right a few paragraphs , all at the same speed .
But Ren , thanks to Levi's memories and his combat qi control , he had a decent mastery of magic , in fact if he were to battle mages his own age who had trained far longer than he had , he was confident he would win .
Lightning magic was really strong because it could do decent damage and was extremely fast . By conjuring lightning within ones own body and circulating it , a lightning mages speed would increase dramatically , this was only possible because a mage cannot be affected by a spell he or she conjured on their own other wise lightning mages would have fried themselves in an attempt to increase their movement speed .
so far Ren had named a few spells he made .
There was lightning ball , which was the spell the former wolf king used against him . There was lightning bolt which was basically a strike of lightning. There was lightning chain , which was a bolt of lightning that would move from on target to another after hitting one target until all the mana stored in the attack diminished , and finally as for the spell that increases movement speed , he named it flash step .
Bolt also explained to Ren how the jungles hierarchy was divided . The forest had six layers , the sixth and fifth were the ones Ren cleared easily , the fourth one was where the dire wolves resided , there were many different tribes of dire wolves , distinguished by their colors . Bolt was a member of the black wolf tribe , the former wolf king was a member of the blue wolf tribe .
From the third layer , things would get incredibly dangerous . The third layer was entirely made up of water . The waters were filled with dangerous sea beasts and even a few magical beasts .
So anyone could imagine just how dangerous the third layer and above was . Bolt actually didn't know what resided in the second and first layer , because he hadn't ever went their . All he knew was that it was best to stay in the fourth flour if he wished to live .
Ren actually hadn't even attempted going to the third floor yet , he was waiting until he completely mastered his new powers , so that he could be sure he was using everything , after all he only had one life and he sure as hell didn't want to waste it on hunting .
During this time training , his blacksmithing skills had reached a new level , he could now make swords other blacksmiths could only dream of .
And so today's day of training was finally over , " tomorrow I'm going to go to the third layer " said Ren talking to himself while walking back home .
After sometime of walking he was able to see his house but as he got closer he saw that many people had gathered there with swords and other weapons in their house and we're screaming .
Upon seeing this Ren immediately activated his flash step spell , it was actually okay to use this spell in public because In the eyes of non mages all they would see is a blur .
In mere seconds Ren was in front of his house , he saw his father was talking in a worried manner to some fat person , Ren immediately got to his fathers side and got a clearer view of the fat man .
It was Carl the village Chief and beside him was Carlos who was staring at him with angry eyes almost like they were spitting fire .
Ren saw this and immediately knew what had transpired while he was away .It turned out that Carlos had woken up from coma and had obviously told Carl who put him to such a state . Ren was staring back in a cold and indifferent manner , he had prepared for this before hand , and had many contingency plans ready .
