The 4S store was in chaos.
Jiang Nuan, clutching her dog with an anxious expression, fumbled in her bag for a long time before finally pulling out her phone. She looked at the chaotic crowd on the street across, who were being hit by gunfire, and dialed the local police.
"Hello, is this the police station? There's a gunman at Mahali Shopping Mall. About eight civilians have been shot, and many people are running outside. So far, we've only identified one shooter, but there might be accomplices, and we don't know what's happening inside the mall. Please send someone immediately, and bring ambulances as well."
She briefly summarized the situation to the panicked store staff, "We won't be washing cars for now. Find a safe place to hide. I've called the police, they'll be here soon."
