"Huh", a young man said. "What happened after that?"
The young man who said this was called Li Hejun. He was lying on a bed reading a book, with a blue blanket over him.
The book Li Hejun was holding was quite strange. It looked really beaten up, with no pictures nor words visible, and the cover of the book being brown.
He, on the other hand, was like the opposite of the book. While the book was dull and beaten up, the young man was tall and handsome. He wasn't over the top handsome though, not to the point where girls would instantly fall head over heels for him.
With light blue eyes like the sea, sharp black hair, and skin whiter than most people, even if girls didn't fall for him at first sight, he still looked really good.
"Hmm, shouldn't there be more to the story?" Li Hejun wondered. "Who won the war? What happened after the war? Who eventually became the next One True God?"
Li Hejun was feeling quite dissatisfied right now. He found this book yesterday in the forest when he was going out for a stroll.
He had actually tripped over it. It was covered in dirt and mud, and since the cover itself was brown, it was nearly invisible. He wasn't sure if he should pick it up, but after a while, his curiosity got the better of him.
He brought it home, cleaned up the book, and gave it a read. Li Hejun was skeptical at first. After all, if a book was neglected like that in the middle of a forest, it probably wasn't any good. But after reading it for a bit, he actually found it quite enjoyable.
The book was of the fantasy genre. It was about the universe a long, long time ago. A time when there were cultivators and gods. At first glance, it seemed like a typical Wuxia novel to him, but the further he read, the more it felt like reality.
He started reading the book at 8:30 in the morning, and by 9:00, he was already done.
"What the hell is this? I spent 3 hours last night cleaning the book from mud and dirt, and not even an hour has passed and I already finished reading this book? I thought that from how thick the book was, it would take me at least a week to finish this. I know my reading speed is pretty fast compared to others, but still, half an hour?"
"No wonder this book was discarded in the forest. Not only is the book really short, but the ending was also dog sh*t. The previous owner probably got mad and just threw it away! Why are the cover and the pages so thick!? Did the author just want to p*ss people off? And the fact that the book was good made it even more frustrating. It's like having a droplet of water after feeling thirsty for three days."
If someone were to walk into his room right now, they would see a frown on his face. Not only did the book waste three and a half hours of his time, but the book also didn't even say what happened next and left him on a huge cliffhanger, making him feel unfulfilled.
He then turned on his phone to try and search for a part two to the book, but as soon as he saw the date on the screen, he panicked.
"F*ck! It's April XX? My essay was due yesterday! It's all because of this sh*tty book! Cleaning this book yesterday made me forget about my essay and now it's overdue!"
Furious, Li Hejun tried throwing the book out the window, forgetting that last night before he went to sleep, he had closed it.
So when the book hit the window, it bounced right back and hit him hard on the forehead.
"Ah sh*t," he murmured while falling back down on his bed. He proceeded to lay there with his hand and legs spread out, while rubbing his forehead in pain.
He stared at the ceiling idly for a while with a blank face, with random thoughts just roaming around in his head.
"Sigh, I should probably finish my essay and apologize to my teacher to see if I can still hand it in..."
As Li Hejun was getting up from his bed, he started thinking about how nice life would be if he was reincarnated into a different world.
'Oh, how I wish I was transported into a different world. Even if my talent is not heaven-defying like those MC's, or even if I don't have cheats, I don't believe that my will to become OP after reading all those novels won't help. Then, I won't have all this annoying homework to do and I won't have to listen to all these dumb people talking sh*t like "Oh, you can't be biologically born a woman" or these newcomer weebs talking out of their *sses saying that you can change the big three. Like what is up with this generation?'
He had a look of disdain on his face after thinking about all that. After all, who wouldn't?
Thinking about how the human race is not evolving forwards but backward, because of things like LGBTQ+ and vegans, our ancestors would surely rise from the dead if they heard about this.
As Li Hejun was walking towards his computer to finish his essay, he suddenly saw a light blue holographic panel appear before his eyes, causing him to abruptly stop right in his tracks.
"Huh? Eh? EH? AH! WTF?! DID I BECOME A GOD! HELL YEA-huh? The universe is going to be destroyed? But I'm in the universe? WAIT WHA- NO STO-"
And that was the last thing he saw, before blacking out abruptly.
