It's been 24 hours since James and his party got trapped in the cave. Now there's only 3 party members and only about 10 monsters left. So far they've fought Giant lizards, red humanoid dragon things they call, 'Dragon kin', ugly green creatures they call 'Goblins', and Dark red bulls that are called 'Rage bulls'. I've never seen such creatures before so I guess every monster forest is different. The big man smashes his hammer into one of the goblins skulls, but is then attacked by another giant lizard. The elf casts a strange spell that traps the lizard in flaming chains. James then stabs it in its abdomen, killing it. Now there's only a couple monsters, and they could leave at any time but they are going to get revenge for the death of one of their party members. Also they are here to get materials for the village and they have to kill monsters to get the materials so they'll fight anyway. They finish of the last remaining monsters and start skinning the lizards and bulls for their scales and hides.
"*THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP!*"
They hear a loud sound kind of like a stampede reverberate through the cave. They turn and see a massive black bulky rhino charging towards them. Sadly the party is very tired and so while two of them rollout of the way the elf is crushed to death.
"NOOOOOO!"
James screams as he rushes towards the rhino trying to kill it with his sword. The blessing and I both know that he stands no chance so while a couple snakes distract it some bigger snakes rap around The big guy and James, and pull them out of the cave. James seems sad but doesn't want to cry in front of his friend so he goes back towards the village taking 50% of the materials with him.
The other guy however chooses to rest a bit before setting off. After about 3 hours of rest he also leaves, but not before he notices that deeper in the cave he thought he saw a massive group of monsters marching out. He then runs towards the village as fast as he can to alert them. Once reaching the village he immediately tells the chief of what he saw. The village chief is caught off guard. He didn't think monsters of different types could for a single army... unless a god is the thing controlling them. He sets up a meeting with the other village elders to talk about how to handle the situation.
"What should we do?"
The chief asks.
"I say we stay quiet about the matter until we know that the monsters are really going to attack."
"What?! No obviously we should announce it immediately so we can prepare!"
2 of the elders argue.
"Any other ideas?"
The chief asks. Nobody responds so they decide:
"Alright let's have a vote! All in favour of keeping quiet for now?"
Four elders raise their hands, which is already the majority.
"Alright keeping quiet it is. Meeting over."
The chief and the elders then come out of the room and resume their duties. While slowly gathering soldiers, some people may notice but they're doing it slow enough nobody thinks it's suspicious.
Back at my temple I'm feeling stronger than ever my following has at least doubled since I became a Greater Deity. I'm noticing a lot of movement near the 'God of Good's' temple recently. They might be preparing to attack me or something soon. I am not worried though as by now my following has almost surpassed theirs. As long as they don't attack right at this moment then I will be strong enough to defeat whoever they send.
