It was late at night, and Dandeline was now on the far side of Adalalpha. She moved cautiously through the enchanted forest, her eyes scanning for the Cave of Goddess Luna. It was a long shot; she had never successfully located it before. The forest's magic twisted and shifted, disorienting even the most skilled. More than the enchantments, an unseen energy moved freely here, one she had failed to capture the last time she entered.
Dandeline's mind was elsewhere as well. She had been busy training the Queen's lazy soldiers and planning the handicapped prince's wedding. Even now, she had to think ahead to the coronation, which was only a few days away. But the pressing mission tonight was more immediate: locating Selene's wolf, which had escaped her magic days before. Alone, neither Selene nor the wolf was powerful enough to confront her plans. Only together could they pose a threat if they arrived at the right place at the right time.
