The sudden change in Alex's line of questioning caught the woman by surprise. Her face showed no change in emotion except for a slight look of confusion.
"What do you mean?" she asked. "One is obviously born with their spirit roots, aren't they?"
"But having seven spirit roots is quite rare, isn't it?" Alex asked her.
"Of course. That's why I'm the only one who has it," she quickly answered without showing much else on her face.
"I do too."
The woman took a moment to fully take in what Alex had said. "You do what?" she asked, as if not sure what to believe.
"I have 7 spirit roots too," Alex said. "As such, I have quite the insight on a person having 7 spirit roots."
The woman slouched a little. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure where this conversation is heading. If you don't mind, I would like to speak of something else."
Alex watched her for a few seconds before nodding. "You are free to change the conversation, senior. But if you do, I won't tell you how Xue Kuangren really died."
