A week wasn't enough time to learn a Dao. Even the most talented individual couldn't learn enough to stay in the trial in just a week if they had to do so from scratch. So, Alex could only be thankful that he did not have to start it all from scratch.
Alex had already learned about the Dao of Mist from the room with the cloud, and now he only needed to learn enough so that he could continue staying behind.
He focused on the mist that surrounded him for the next full week, wasting not a single second. And then, when the month ended, he could prove to the voice that he had indeed learned enough to be allowed to stay there.
Many had to have left by now, causing Alex to wonder what the situation was with the others. Had they lasted until now, or were they sent away?
After much consideration, Alex decided to make use of this opportunity to learn the Daos he could and apologized in his heart to anyone who had to wait for him for another month.
